As the battle begins, the beetles rush into the fight. Some are quicker than others, eager to start rumbling, while some of the more patient members simply look on and wait for a chance to strike.

With one quick glance, Uproot and To The Death make a quick alliance, turning on Leaves You Breathless. The small yellow beetle doesn’t have a chance and gets instantly cleaned up by a double strike blow from the duo! Leaves You Breathless definitely won’t be getting back up again!

Sea of Bugs is an impressive competitor and seems ready to wash her competition away but she is forced to face down her greatest weakness - a really big horn. Path Worth Taking doesn’t stop to think, he picks her up in that big ol horn and flings her off into the air. She exits the arena like one of those squishy things at the beach tossed straight back into the waves, except she's been tossed out of the ring and out of the running!

Time to cry a sea of tears!

As the others rumble, Foolish Games turns around and finds himself faced by a giant green beetle. It stares soulfully into his eyes and he hears a voice, “my son”.

Is it true? Has the moment finally come???

He holds out a hand.

They touch.

“Your fight is over now, my son,” says his father. The big beetle leads him to the edge of the arena and Foolish Games willingly steps out of the ring, his eyes full of hearts, his heart singing. His long search is finally ov-

“SYKE!”

Having outwitted her first enemy, Hrogthor the Great turns her great beetle ass around and heads back to the fight.

Foolish Games falls to his knees.

“You're tearing me, you're tearing me apart!” He sobs.

Hrogthor doesn't care.

There’s a really brief moment where Shining Emerald believes he has a chance of winning. He’s full of hope, full of pep, ready to make his mark. He spots an enemy, prepares himself for battle and -

- gets instantly squashed by a huge fish.

MEANWHILE...

Upon seeing the carnage, Night Night bids himself goodnight and taps himself out of the competition!



And the mysterious Crimson keeps to the air, waiting and watching for the right moment to strike. Perhaps she's waiting for the numbers to be whittled down before she sneaks a bite? Only time will tell!

The next roll will take place on Saturday (hopefully)! Until then you can earn an extra ticket by drawing your competitor either fighting or losing in your own style! Did they get knocked out and are crying in the locker rooms? Are they on a stretcher? Or did they beat someone and are now gloating about it? Or you just wanna draw them punching someone? Go wild!

There’s a surprising lack of downtime on the fish swing (needs a nerf)! As Real Big Beetle whips the fish from where it crushed poor Emerald, up into a beautiful fishy arc that comes right back down on top of Uproot with a big SPLAT!

One half of the alliance that took out Leaves Your Breathless take it about as well as anyone takes being whacked by a massive fish: not very well.
In the age old war of muscles vs fish, today the fish wins!

Crimson was indeed waiting for the right time to strike and that time is NOW! As soon as Uproot is smacked down by the fish, To The Death is forced back and that’s when Crimson zooms into the fight, ready to end it in one blow like a speedy little mosquito assassin.

But when she gets close, To The Death shows just what sort of fighter he is! He channels his inner power and transforms into a more powerful form!



Unfortunately for him it turns out Crimson is really good at ARPG’s and after a long, tense battle, her final strike lands!



There's a lot of particle effects still floating around and Crimson uses it as cover, buzzing up behind the duplicitous Hrogthor the Great. She saw everything and she knows the right place to strike.

Hrogthor has only a single moment to anticipate a very bad time and then has a very bad time.

Path Worth Taking was expecting just a normal beetle fight and not whatever the fuck is happening now and so rather than step into a boss fight has decided to just hang back and watch for an opening. And y'know, process things. And try not to get squished by a fish. There's a lot going on.
