"Been a while since we've done this, eh brother?" The Kiokote skipped lightly from one side to the other, voice light, but with a brittle, anxious, edge to it. They didn't feel safe in the dark swamp. This was a good way to work out that anxiety. Can't wasn't particularly combative, but they'd taken to it more readily than some of their other siblings. Can't Stop didn't speak much during fights. Their whole mind was consumed with adrenaline and motion. They loved contests of all sorts.

After the charge, Can't Stop wheeled around to charge again, but this time stopped, ducked, and kicked out, hard, with their back hooves. It was a solid, satisfying, hit.

"Um. She? Are you...oh. oh no."

She was willing to help his sibling, especially since the darkness had come, plunging their home, and their family, into darkness. While there were fires and kin around as flickering bastions against the darkness around them, everyone agreed that the sooner the sun was back, the better things would be for them in the spring. Plants that weren't yet fruiting were dying, leaves pulling in their greens and even reds to leave them sickly, pale shades of brown. Their new growth was this peculiar white, and that had been the thing that troubled him most of all-- how would they survive the fallout from this if all the herbivores died early-on and the winter was delayed? Without a protective coating of snow, the dead would rot, and so many would be forced to subsist on only that rot, the bugs infesting them, and the mushrooms that would surely be sprouting.

When his sibling asked him to get ready, he grinned. "Of course, Sibling," he said, then readied himself. The first hit, he had thought, would be easy for She to dodge. He simply stepped backwards, with the thought that he could take advantage of his longer legs.

Unfortunately for him, he was wrong. His legs were far better at squaring up and standing tall than his sibling's body-- one who stood lower to the ground simply by dint of always being on the move, and having a less static stance. The buck staggered at the first hit, then nearly blacked out as she kicked him squarely in the face, both hooves making solid, searing contact. He swayed, then took a step forward.

"Wow. Just... wow." Blood was running down his face in rivulets, and he swiped at the taste of it, rich and red on his lips, before returning with a charge of his own.

Red blurred what little vision he had from the nearby firelight, and his second strike missed entirely. He tasted his blood flowing back from his definitely-broken nose, and staggered away from the fighter's ring, mumbling to himself "Think... think I need a lay-down after that. That was... wow, sib," before promptly passing out.

"She?" The satisfaction of victory was short-lived, once Can't saw She drop into a heap of blood and limbs.

"Healer? Healer! My brother needs help. I kicked his lights out!" Can't looked to Tenacious and then to the other gathered kin.
