Albatross scanned the horizons for any incoming kin. It had been a strangely productive and fruitful season for breedings and blessings. Not that any were her clutches. She did her part to help spread the kin far and wide without procreating herself. Perhaps in another lifetime or the next season. She stepped gingerly towards her destination, pausing to look behind her. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. She saw furbodies, she saw weird things, and she felt the shadows nearing the edges of her vision. Nothing was amiss. She stepped closer to the water's edge, cautiously hopeful. Dipping one hoof in, she sighed in relief. It was temperate and measured. She wouldn't have to adjust too hard. She had maybe a scant few more days before the temperatures dipped to near Totoma levels. She went all in, submerging her body into the blissful pools of the spring.

Groovy ran through the groves. She was running out of time. As the competition of strength proved, she did not have endurance to go on for long. But she was desperate and during trying times, the body did not know its limits. How she was supposed to find a legendary was beyond her. She looked up and down, she spoke to things that were inanimate. She even bartered with stolen fruit. Nothing helped. She called through muddy tunnels, befriended blind zikwas, and even chatted up a fish that flew through the air. Nothing could give her any solace or direction as to where she should go. But as she ventured eastward, she found herself experiencing weirder sides of the swamp. Things that the MotherFather made that were peculiar and unsettling. She would have dismissed the first occurrence as an anomaly, but it kept on happening. She decided to take a gamble and delve deeper into a particular set of groves. It wasn't until she heard the splashing that she saw a kin that looked different. One with eyes that glowed defiantly and that kin looked irritated as the acha came closer.

Albatross looked on incredulously and then furiously at the sky. Hadn't she done enough? Was her work for naught? Would she never rest and rid of interlopers who intruded on her near sacred bathing rituals!? She wasn't sure if all legendaries were like her, but she did hear rumors of a pink haired Mare who loved the waters so much that they joined a tribe near the sea and played with shuppies all day long. She snarled ungraciously, "What do you want?"

Groovy was taken aback. Weren't legendaries supposed to be nice and nurturing? Or maybe she got it mixed up with broodmares. Her heart was hammering quickly while her thoughts raced. She had to say something. She had heard of legendaries being granted unique powers from the MotherFather. There was no way to see if this Mare had fatal gifts. She stammered but after the performance of a lifetime, well a weekend of very memorable performances, Groovy was hear to help A Star is Born. It was the very least she could do. She searched far and wide and now that she had found what she sought, she would not be turned away without a sound beating. She hoped it would not progress to that point. She was desperate but not immortal.

"I NEED A BLESSING" the frantic acha rushed out.

Albatross gnashed her teeth and groaned loudly. "FINE" seethed the Mare.

"I bless your growing brood to be smart, sufficient, and a whole lot more situational savvy than you." She closed her mouth with an audible snap and glared at the intruder to contest the short blessing.

Groovy was no dummy. With the very pointed comment and blessing, she knew it was her cue to make it back to the fair Kimeti. She got her blessing and now that it was done, it was time for her to leave. With haste.

"Thank you. You don't know how much this means to me and to us." And with that, the acha skedaddled with the swiftness as if approaching storm clouds were on her heels

Sinking deeper into the spring, she submerged under the waters and shifted forms. Silently she fumed underwater. She just wanted a break. Was that so much to ask? She struck out at a fishing passing by.
