Unlike his father, Hollow Inhale didn't care much for children.

He supposed that could change. He supposed there was a possibility that he would eventually come to love them. He supposed that, on the off chance one of them was actually more than a little, writhing bundle of irritation, he could potentially see its worth, raise it to be in his shadow. But these were all very unlikely scenarios and Hollow was more than a little skeptical of any of them actually occuring.

Still. The tiny, nagging feeling that had eaten away at him ever since he had encountered that doe persisted, and in spite of his annoyance, Hollow sent out a thought to - well, he wasn't entirely sure what, exactly. The universe? The sky? The Motherfather? A wisp of cloud? It made him scoff to even consider it, but he had heard tales of the ones who blessed, heard whispers among the branches of ones who could give you something more. He didn't know how much he believed in it, even if he believed in their overall existence, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

He stood in a thicket of spindly trees whose branches had not yet found spring and waited.

She came upon the buck then, because of course she did. The Motherfather worked in such ways that coincidence and fate seemed immutable.

Also, the matter of timing- she was still crunching on a spring onion she had dug up not too long before when she stumbled upon the kin who needed her arrival to happen just so.

And, almost literally, she stumbled in shock that he was already right there and she wasn't quite ready yet.

Tidal Terror blamed the drowsy time when winter shifted into spring.

"Hail and well-met!" she greeted, after swallowing the rest of her foraging snack.

The totoma that appeared was unfamiliar, bringing with her the scent of something sharp and grassy in the process. Hollow watched her through narrowed eyes, an uneasy feeling rippling across his back; he didn't like this. He didn't like having to subject himself to such a thing, to anyone, but especially this. It felt degrading in a way, though if pressed to say why, he couldn't quite say for certain.

He forced himself to stay and not turn around and just leave.

"Good morning," said Hollow without preamble. "I've heard that there are those kin that can give me blessings."
