In the beginning, he had wandered.
It had taken him only a small amount of time to find someone willing to listen to him; someone who had laid on the cold ground beside one of the mountains, resting his head on his hooves and watching with an interest that had piqued Edge's heart for the first time in ages. He had tried to keep himself as stoic and separate as possible, but in the end he had lost.
It was a little frustrating. He didn't want to be lost. He wanted to be found.
And he also wanted to find a legendary, or something of the like, because he was trying very hard to get through this whole ordeal without losing his mind about it.

It was hard to miss him. He
glinted, crystal growths sparkling in the sun. In her eagle form, wheeling and diving, gliding on thermals, there wasn't much that Real Big Fish missed– but some things, some kin were highly conspicuous. This was one of them. Even if she hadn't felt the pull, that mysterious thing she just
felt sometimes, she probably would have wanted to check this fellow out. Had he been at the shattered obelisk? Were the crystalline structures shards, or perhaps something else?
Curious, the eagle landed. Golden eyes glowing, she unfolded, rising into an enormous Totoma who smelled of fish and the cool, deep parts of lakes. "You look lost. And now you're found. Tell me friend," she said, not at all unkindly. "Who and what have I come across?"

Edge took great pride in who he was and what he did. He took less pride in knowing that he had succumbed to one of the baser instincts of existing; namely that he had found a pretty buck and had strayed into a courtship that had left them with an expecting clutch of children. Edge had never been a father before; he didn't exactly know what to expect, and moreover, he was relatively certain that he was going to be terrible at it. He could hope otherwise, but he wasn't prime material for partnership, nor parenthood.
There was a rustle and a flutter, and as Edge turned, he saw a glorious looking eagle cresting down towards him. It reformed itself, shifting from a bird into a totoma, and Edge took a startled step back, his hooves rising before his mind caught up with just what he was seeing. It took him another moment to relax a little, though his pose remained slightly defensive, eyes somewhat suspicious.
"I'm...not lost," he said, after a moment, and then, "Not physically."
He let the unspoken but mentally, maybe hang in the air. Edge felt a little wary. "I'm...are you one of the blessed ones? The blessers?"
He didn't know how else to say it.
