A skinny old geezer with a variety of familiars has set himself up next to the first swamp obelisk. Any kin who passes by is greeted with a jovial "excuse me!"

"Are you planning a journey through the obelisk? Do you require a guide?" He'll ask, and if no guide is required, "which obelisk do you intend to visit? I would like to pay all of them a visit, you see."

He taps some rough drawings on the ground. "I've been to the mountains and the caves. And I'm confident I could reach the plains or the desert, which I have visited a few times in dreams. But there are many smaller obelisks scattered around. Only kin who have seen those before are likely to be able to find them again."

"The journey through the strange world of the obelisks is not an easy one. I can help you reach your destination and return to the swamp safely, although I might learn some things about you and you might learn some things about me. I can keep secrets." Murkcrow nods. Then his face darkens. "I can't guarantee that nothing bad will happen to you, but it's better to bring another than go alone, right? My services are free after all."

Ever since she returned from the caves, Heart and Home had decided she was going to see more of the world beyond the swamp. It was going to require a lot of preparation on her end, something the Winter Market had shown to her. While her intentions had been to travel out on hoof and return through the obelisks, it occured to her that how would she know which obelisk led to where?

Did they lead to where you wanted them to go or did they, perhaps, have a set point of origin and exit way? It was probably safest if she were to find as many obelisks as she could before assuming they would be there for her to return home through.

So imagine her delight when Murkcrow offered himself as guide! "Oh that would be wonderful! I dare say I'm terrible with directions so a helping hoof is always welcomed. I have no specific destination in mind, but would very much like to find some of these smaller obelisks you speak of."
