[b] Cold Winter's Day (Frostbitten & Tidal Terror)

It was bone-chillingly cold, the wind whipping around his face and leaving it stinging. Frostbitten stood at the mouth of the cave he had just surfaced from, looking out at the barren trees with their empty branches, all of the leaves gone, covered instead with bough-breaking amounts of snow and ice. Everything felt muted in a way that was almost deafening; he thought he couldn't even hear himself think in this kind of weather, though the actual storm had passed.

He stepped out into the woods, ignoring the way his hooves sank deep into the snowdrifts, and set out. It was with a single-minded determination that he was even leaving to go anywhere: a determination that would hopefully end in the success of finding who he was looking for.

Tidal Terror was reminded of the mountains, with the deep snow and the unforgiving wind. Maybe she was closer than she expecting?

She couldn't imagine her children, if not most of her tribe, had ever felt this kind of weather in their lives.

She could only hope whoever was calling her was a totoma. This wasn't fit weather for anything else.

But hoping didn't mean she knew, so she continued to shuffle on at a diligent pace.

Who knew when the next storm might sweep in.

He achieved his goal faster than he had thought. Frostbitten was more than a little unprepared for the ways in which the legendaries worked, but he could appreciate how quickly the totoma showed, even if she was just a blue blur in the freezing wind. It was the kind of weather where most would hunker down and attempt to not move, but Frostbitten hadn't gotten his name for nothing.

He made a soft sound that was carried away in the breeze and then said, louder, "Are you a blesser?"

It was difficult to see. Maybe he was talking to a boulder and not a kin, but he'd thought he'd seen it move.
