She'd ventured from the cave for a single purpose - one so important she kept it from her siblings until she knew she was successful. Their family was growing and she was to do her part as well. For the blood. For the bones. For the heart.
A strange flower aided the process so she did not have to search far. Now, she seemed a blessing - so that the children would prosper and grow strong. She would not return home until she had completed this task.

The wolf found her as night had begun to descend, stepping out of the lengthening shadows, ears perked and tail raised proud. He stared at her, eyes aglow, and waited, poised, for her to see him and know.

The doe sensed the presence of another - felt that it was something else and she stopped in her place, nose twitching as she sniffed the air. This had to be what she had come for - she was sure of it.
"I seek a blessing," she said simply, straight to the point as she always was. There was no point being anything other than herself - she was certain her deceit would be detected. The blessing would be given or it would not - there was nothing she could do to change that fact. It was not up to her - but this fact did not anger her.

The wolf form rippled and shifted, then faded until there was another in its place.
The Killing Moon smiled, politely, pleasantly - but his gaze was intense and searching. “Why?” He asked, also simply. Her answer would decide whether he blessed her or not.

She shifted, suddenly uncomfortable and maybe not as satisfied with giving up control as she thought she was. The children were for the family, for the purpose, yes - but they were still her own and she still had an urge to protect them, ensure their safety and lives beyond strengthening the numbers for the cause.
"To keep them safe," she whispered, suddenly vulnerable and revealing fears to an unknown - fears that she couldn't even fully comprehend yet.

As she gave him her answer, his head tilted ever so slightly, quietly weighing her words, judging everything, from her tone to look in her eyes as she spoke.
It was enough.
His head straightened, his next smile slightly warmer.
“Then may they be safe,” he blessed, “under the MotherFather’s gaze. Born of good health and mind.” There was no tingle or feeling to accompany his words, just a sense that it was done.
