For a little while the pain would ease but the a memory would come and the sharp edges of misery would seize upon her once more. She'd placed it to the side, her mind latching onto something that was more troublesome and more painful. Where she was filled with self-hatred because she inevitably destroyed what she loved, she had begun to notice that her daughter was unhappy. Atone could deal with her own unhappiness; she deserved it. Fair Swan, however, did not and she knew Snow would have been heartbroken to see their daughter so deep in belief that she was ugly.

It had taken a lot of cajoling and asking to get the other doe to accompany her on a walk. The effort of it had been a surprise; Fair Swan had always loved spending time with her mothers but now it seemed she simply wanted to hide away. Atone was determined they would find her daughter a friend or at least a hobby. She couldn't stand to see her daughter stuck in the belief that she was less than beautiful and deserving of everything.
