This past quarter moon had been quite the upset.

Cave Yell had come home changed, with a new buck quite possibly to blame, and Echo had had the urge to both protect her brother and to make the buck take charge of lavishing attention upon him. The last clutch in the family were firmly adults, now, coming to visit only on occasion, and that left plenty of time for her to focus on the important things... things like pruning the berry hedges that encircled her personal sanctuary.
