She had a brief consultation with what of the family she could find, and they came to the same conclusion after she mentioned a particular buck and a particular activity.
"Perhaps you are with child," Depths said succinctly.
So she perhaps was. She found herself wandering the seaside aimlessly, pausing to dramatically look out on the horizon, feeling rather sick all the same, whether at prospect of children (plural) or pregnancy, or both.
It was when she was paused ankle-deep in the waves, feeling rather sick, that she was barged into by a large kiokote with glowing eyes.

"Will you watch where you're going," she hissed, sat swollen and sullen in now hip-high waves, "you'll drown us all."
"Oh," Distant Thunder said, "that...that wasn't your intention?"
He scuffed the sand a little. He couldn't take any chances, seeing kin aimlessly wander shores and stand near roiling waves. He was fairly sure the Motherfather would be annoyed if he didn't even try - that would be a risk he would have to take each time.
Even if he had been wrong each time.
"No," Dragonfish snapped, unfolding slowly, rising and shaking herself off, "and when I am with child, too."
"With child!"
"Apparently," she looked out again, sullen.
Thunder awkwardly scuffed, because he would have readily volunteered his services, but she was angry (for good reason). Peering over to evaluate when would be the best time to mention it, he found himself looking her up and down with growing realisation.
"I'm already pregnant, not feeling it right now," Dragonfish looked at him almost pityingly.
The judgment clicked.
"Oi," he said lowly, but helplessly, "I have a lifemate," it was defensive, "but anyway I think I might have seen a relative of yours, the one with multiple girlfriends."
She laughed sharply, a little derisively, "oh, Damselfish - he's their boytoy.
"He's much better suited to carrying children than I, 'tis a pity it doesn't work that way."
Wow, that got even more awkward quickly. Thunder meekly looked out to the horizon as well.
"I blessed him," and he ventured, "I could bless you, if you'd like."
"Oh Motherfather yes," her head turned to him, her glowing eyes regarding his own glowing eyes, "why didn't you say so earlier? I'm suffering here."
"Um, ok," Thunder cleared his throat before digging his hooves into the sand and calling to the skies:
"MOTHERFATHER, WE COME WITH A PLEA FOR A NEW MOTHER,"
She definitely backed away at the incredible volume.
"MAY HER PREGNANCY BE SMOOTH AND THE BIRTH SWIFT, AND - anything for the children?"
She shrugged as much as her ungulate shoulders would allow her.
He tried not to judge.
"MAY HER CHILDREN BE HALE AND HEARTY AND HAPPY"
That would do.
"Thank you," she said, quite obviously a formality, but it had come out all the same."
"You're welcome," Thunder said with some weariness, "I hope your children will be all right."
"No worse than Damselfish's," she snorted, and left.
