She had heard tales of kin that could bless expecting parents from her parent and her parent’s parent. She wished for that for her own.

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft] He arrived on the wing, a songbird flitting through the branches and swooping down around her head with a whistling song. Then he was a Kiokote, transforming in mid-air and landing in the muck of the Swamp with an unsatisfying squelch.

“Tch.” Watch Me lifted a mud-covered hoof and shook it. “You lot should really learn to just stay put inside of wandering into nasty places.”

He arched his brows and looked her up and down.

“So,” he began, expression cautiously hopeful, “the other parent to your future children isn’t an Acha is it?”

There was always the chance, even if the MotherFather loved to disappoint him.

Before looked at him self consciously. “Well… yes? Yes he is..” Her eyes darted anywhere but to his eyes, glancing at the feathers he had on his leg, by his tail and in his mane.

She felt a little awkward but she needed help so she continued speaking. “I’m looking for a blessing? My mother told me about how she had gotten one and I really want one for my own children.” It was, after all, the main reason she was squelching around in the muck of the swamp right now.

"Oh," he said, and then more brightly, "oh!"

Well that was alright then! The MotherFather didn’t have it out for him after all. In fact, she’d sent him to -

‘“A kindred spirit,” he said out loud, nodding eagerly. “Aren’t they marvelous? You have great taste!” He was now more than happy to stand in the mud and proceed with the blessing she deserved.

“May the Swamp, in her infinite greatness, bless these unborn foals! May they be healthy and their Acha blood run strong!” He cried out in a deep and ringing voice. The Swamp didn’t answer. Or maybe she did, as a frog chose that moment to continue its chorus.

Watch Me winked at the doe. “How was that?”

Before stares at the brightly colored kin for a few moments as she pondered how easy that actually had been; besides the walk in the muck, that was. “I thank you for this kind gift of a blessing you’ve given me. I appreciate it very much.”

She bowed her head in thanks to him, eager to leave the depths of swamp behind for a less…swampy? swamp. She was definitely going to tell her family how easy of a time she’d had compared to her mother’s mother.
