[b] Of owls and mushrooms (Honor Bound & Guardian of Life)

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft]It crept up on him, his feelings for Dawn Until Dusk. Oh sure, he was aware she was pretty, and he liked to spend time with her. She was smart, and funny, and he loved to spend time with her. A lot of time. All of his time. It took awhile for him to realize these thoughts and feelings translated into wanting to stay by her side for as long as possible, and he was over joyed to learn she felt the same way as him.

After that, they worked on turning her home into a place for two....and slowly worked to make it a place for more....and more was now on the way to his utter delight. Promising her a quick return, the buck took some food and water with him, and set off to secure a blessing for her and their young, steps sure, and strides long. He'd find a legendary quickly and return home in no time at all!

....three days later he wasn't walking quite so sure-hoofed, or quick paced. He began to despair ever finding what seemed to be an elusive presence in the swamp. A long sigh came from him as snow began to fall on him. "Great." he sighed again and kept walking. He hadn't prepared for this when he left.

[imgright]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgright] Guardian had been some distance away when she first felt the tug that turned her in the right direction, a few stops along the way for one reason or another, and she found herself in a part of the swamp she hadn't been to before. Or at least she didn't think so, it was hard to tell with all of this snowfall after all!

Still as she walked she let her gut lead her and before long she saw a buck trudging through the snow looking more than a little worn. Her longer legs made closing the distance easy and she chuckled as he crashed into her, she did blend in a bit.

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft]To say he was startled was an understatement. One moment along, the next running into a kin as pale as the snow, and such a strange looking one too with those long legs, different body...glowing.....eyes.... he brightened realizing he'd found what he'd been looking for, and he breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh thank the MotherFather, I found you. Or well, someone like you. You're a legendary right? You can do the whole blessing thing?"

[imgright]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgright]His relief made Guardian smile and she nodded her head, though thought better of it and answered as well (and a good idea too in this snow who knew how well a head nod would be seen!), "I am yes. It sounds like you could use one, correct?" there was no other reason she could see to be out in this strange weather, braving the cold after all.

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft] He sagged with relief and gave a nod of his head. "My mate, Dawn Until Dusk is expecting. While not a first for her, it is for me, and well. I just want to make sure I do everything I can for her, and our young." he sounded so excited and nervous as he shifted his eight from hoof to hoof. "She's really smart, and knows a lot about mushrooms, and other foods, in fact she took care of me after I ate a mushroom that ahhh reacted weirdly... she's brave....used to steal owl feathers from me and others...." he kept talking up her good points to Guardian.

[imgright]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgright]"First, what is your name. I know plenty about her now. Tell me at least this much about you. Second, what sort of a blessing are you hoping for?" she tipped her head as she watched him force himself to slow down, and think a little calmer. Good. Still she sounded like a wonderful doe, and she was glad this buck was so happy with his chosen mate!

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft] "Oh uhm my name is Honor Bound, and well...I think to have them be as smart, and brave and caring as their mother would be a really good thing, right? So something like that, if you don't mind, please."

[imgright]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgright]"A sincere pleasure to meet you Honor Bound, I'm Guardian of Life, and I would be happy to bless not only for what you asked, but perhaps just a little bit more. May the MotherFather ensure your children are not only as smart and brave as their mother, but as steadfast and loving in their lives as their father is. Have a safe journey home to your mate. It's time for me to return to mine as well." the mare turned and within a few steps blended into the white all around.

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft] The extra she added into his request made him duck his head in surprise, he hadn't expected that but it warmed him. He couldn't wait to get back and tell Dawn Until Dusk about this entire encounter. When he lifted his head the mare was turning away, talking about returning to her own mate. If he hadn't looked when he did he was sure she would have vanished without him realizing it, leaving him to wonder if he'd imagined the entire encounter. He turned the way he'd come from days before, eager to get back home to his mate.
