Regardless of how many times he found himself in this situation (and it had been many now), the buck still found himself nervous. He paced awkwardly along the edge of the river. Like his others, these children had not been planned - a dalliance with a doe he met while trying to find some warmth. He often found himself in such dalliances but he minded not - all his children were blessings to him and it was for them he sought out a blessing in return.

Then a figure stepped into view, padded slowly forward with eyes bright and ears alert. The wolf came to a halt beside the water and watched Oh Dear.

More movement and two other wolves appeared until three were standing on the bank, side by side. Another rustle in brush behind them suggested there were even more.

The first wolf, white with a brilliant orange pattern, showed his fangs in what could have been a smile.

Dear eyed the wolves with a stare, wondering for a moment if he should flee, less he be lunch. But as he watched the wolves and how they eyed him, something twinkled in the eyes of the forth-most wolf that seemed to indicate he was in no threat.

He cleared his throat with a nod of his head. "H-hello there.."

The wolf tilted its head thoughtfully at the greeting. So that's how it was.



Then where the wolf had been, there was a stag instead. The toothy smile now far less dangerous on the face of a handsome Kimeti. "Hell father-to-be. I have come to grant you a boon." It was a shame he hadn't run. The Killing Moon had felt like a chase.

Be a Dear swooped low as the legendary made his presence known - though he had suspected as much and had experiences legendaries in their animal form before, it still amazed him and caught him off guard. He didn't think he would ever get used to it.

"Ah, thank you so much," he said, rising to stand tall. "All of my children have been blessed by legendaries - I am most fortunate. I only wish the same for these as I did those - that they be healthy and find happiness in life, wherever it may take them."

“I see,” he said, arching a brow. “It would be quite unfair to deny your new offspring the same benefit as their older siblings.” The Acha was clearly respectful and had made this plea many times before. That the Swamp had seen fit to give him what he sought must mean something.

Even if he had been denied the hunt, The Killing Moon was pleased. The two wolves at his side growled restlessly, as they realized there would be no fun chase.

“Well then, as you request, may they be healthy and find happiness with the wisdom to cherish having both.”
