Alone in the desert, she followed the moon. Her instincts told her this was the way--she didn't know what was at the end, but her thin newborn legs continued to trek along a path. Time...shifting, swirling, shimmering, flying time...she grew steady, soon ran at a gallop, and she knew this was the freedom of life. Time must have passed, but the moon remained steady above, an eye in a brilliant sky. She felt awestruck, watching it, eyes locked on the guiding lights above until...

She found them. Two vague forms, but clearly Acha like her, with lilting voices that carried across the swirling sand. They met, they danced in the shining desert, and she knew these were destined to be her sisters. They would be waiting for her someday, as they waited here.

Her hooves sank into glittering dunes, but it never stopped her as she sang and practically swam among the bright reflections of the sky above...the beautiful Starlight Sand.

A faint rustle outside, the stirring of something in the dark, were the herald awakening him from a long dream. Follow the sound, uncaring, glib, into pitch-dark trees. Mysterious lights lurked sluggish in the mire underfoot, unbothered, unblinking, as he looked for it. But a passing mote across his path revealed the image he was meant to see; a bouquet left behind, untouched by the dirt.

As silence, profound silence, fell over the dark woods, the one he pursued left three roses and a mystery.

There was no rain. The world flashed in a blinding strobe, the sharp smell of the air being rent by bolts that reached down in a neverending dry storm. The world hid from it, and terrified creatures cried tears as the sky cried lightning.

Something was chasing her. Not quickly, but insidiously, always just behind her. No matter how many times she turned around, she could see nothing. She could walk towards the bright horizon all she wanted, but turning around she'd see nothing but a dim violet sky. Soon she realized that it was the dark of evening itself following her lead, dusk creeping behind her as she chased away the light.
