[B] Finding Control (Lose Control & Watch) [Fin]

Image Control meant many things to many kin, and losing it wasn't necessarily a good thing. Lose Control often lost his when he was busy mixing berries together to get new colors, to smear the bright colors on rocks, smooth bark, anything he could put the colors on (himself included. He was after all an ever washable canvas).

Control meant, being able to tear himself away from his love of making the world a more colorful place to instead focus on the bright, sparkly doe  he met by chance...and enjoyed spending time with more than he enjoyed hunting for berries, and mashing them down to a smearable consistency.

And this of course meant that now, a new sort of color was being brought into the world, and it brought joy to the bucks heart. He was already hard pressed to ever be anything but joyful but he thought he'd burst out of his hide now.

Control also meant, that now he had to be away from berries and doe alike, because his father had gently urged him to seek out a blessing, for the babies. He wasn't entirely sure what he meant by that, Take On Me didn't explain it well, just said to give it some thought on what he'd want for his offpsring. So as he walked, he thought. And lost his train of thought, a lot, but eventually he found his way back to it again.

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... ncert2.png[/imgleft]The day was bright and shining. Delicate sunlight drifted down through the heavy canopy above, dappling the earthy tones below with gold. The air felt like a gentle caress through his feathers. Watch closed his eyes, drinking it in. But he was doing more than simply sun himself. Yes, he stood there with his great wings spread, drying himself from his latest swim, but there was more to that. Always more.

A father was coming, he could tell. The stag had been at this now for who knew how long, but at last he was learning the difference. And so he waited there, basking patiently as the bright bundle of energy slowly weaved his way into the clearing where Watch had decided to set the scene.

His glowing eyes, red as the setting sun, opened and before him was a kin of many colors. It was hard to tell what was fur and what was stain, but the sight brought warmth to his heart. A faint flicker of his children's laugher echoed in his mind, but then his heart clenched and he shifted his wings into place with a shake.

He turned his head and thought to the buck in a voice like slow waves on sand, "Hello, child. I have been waiting here for you."

"Whoaaaaa.....who's there?" he looked around curiously, spying only the crane that was not flying away from him even as he kept walking. "Was that you? that's coooool!" he laughed warmly, awe saturating his tone as he got remarkably close to Watch-Crane, surprised the bird wasn't flying off.

"Maybe that strong batch of berries I ate back there is messing with me..." he blinked a few times at Watch then, unsure if he'd really heard the talking, or imagined it thanks to fermented fruit. It was hard to tell right them!

"You've been waiting for me?"

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft]There was a flurry of feathers and a burst of sea spray, in the blink of an eye where the crane once perched now stood a great Stag, tall and weathered. Though he stood still, his markings and mane, stained with silver and salt, waved and rippled with light that moved with an unseen current. He offered the bedecked buck a knowing smile and a nod.

"Yes," He said simply, "The Swamp has heard your call and so here I am. What is your name, young one?"

He was amazed to see the bird seemingly explode  into feathers and water and after staring at that spot a few long moments, and realizing there was a kin there he let out an awed "Whooooaaaa...." why yes, his mind had been blown. It took him a few moments to look at Watch and a moment more to finally answer. "My na... oh! I'm Lose Control, you can call me Impulse though." he gave the other buck a smile as he said that. "That's really cool the swamp knew I was looking for someone. My dad didn't give me specifics..." a wry note from him.

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft]As the Sun Burns gives the buck a chuckle, "Yes, a father's job is to guide you gently, allow you to experience the world's secrets and experiences first hand. Could you imagine living a life where you knew every thing that would happen? That would be tragic."

He shook out his mane and drew himself taller, "Now then, Lose Control, you said? A very telling name. So tell me, was meeting your mate also an impulse?" The salt stained stag stood there, waiting ever so patiently. He collected these stories, tales of romance and luck, perseverance and failed attempts, like precious somethings tucked beneath a wing.

There was a grimace at the idea of knowing everything, of it being set out and hard to change. That didn't go well with his free spiritedness in the slightest! "That would be absolutely awful yeah. Ew." he stuck his tongue out in disgust, but laughed softly.

"It was. I was busy mashing berries and flowers together to get the right color and consistency, to smear it on some rocks I was decorating when she came along. She's so vibrant..." he let out a content sigh. She spoke to the artist inside him, at least for now. How long she played muse to him was hard to say, but for now..

[imgleft]https://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/imag ... uncert.png[/imgleft]It wasn't too much to play with but Watch accepted that challenge. His sunset eyes shone bright and red, and as he spoke, a thick red fog fell from his mouth and pooled between the two kin.

"You are an artist, and she is your muse,"

From the fog a misty silhouette of the buck stood, ribbons of vibrant colors splashed on his otherwise blank form. They watched as the mist formed buck went about, bleeding color onto the trees and stones of the clearing. Then, one of the rocks stood. Not a rock, but a doe. She shook her coat and flashed her bright colors beautifully. They touched noses and he painted a heart shape on her flank.

And with a single breath, the images fell, disappearing into the earth.

"Together you will make works of art, vibrant in both pelt and heart. Guide them well, Impulse, and they will never cease to surprise you." He shuffled his nose beneath the wing of his crane, plucking a long, white feather. Gently, he set it at the feet of the buck and with a smile, he said,

"That is my blessing to you and your muse. Keep it well."

And before the buck could respond, Watch was a crane once more. He opened his wide wings and lifted himself to the sky and was gone.

He was left baffled by the whole thing and he made a mental note (that he was sure to forget shortly) to maybe not eat strong fruit when he was looking for other kin (or anything, really) as it left him feeling muddled and confused for far too long.

Still he watched as the stag changed back into a crane and flew off, the feather being picked up, ideas already forming in his brain, centering around this feather as he started back home.

(thank you! Sorry he's such a scatterbrain lol)
