Lost always enjoyed just wandering. It didn't seem to help much with his memories but he figured that maybe, at one point, something would come back to him. As it so happened, he also happened to enjoy his wanderings because, well, he'd met with this lovely doe and they'd spent time together in ways that had added to his few memories and those, he knew, he would cherish as long as they stayed with him. Just as he cherished the doe.
When he'd learned that they were going to be parents, it made him pause. He wasn't really sure what to do, though hearing others talk, it seemed that perhaps, finding a Legendary would help him. Maybe he wouldn't learn how to be a good father, that was something he figured he would have to learn on his own, but by speaking to this legendary, he would perhaps be able to ask that his children's own memory be better than his own. He wanted them to remember everything good that would happen to them while they grew up and then lived a good, long life.
In a way, Lost told himself that it wasn't much to ask for, not really. Just a little something so that their little ones would have a good life.
So he was wandering now. Not so much lost as somewhat uncertain of where he was going but, in a way, he didn't know where he was supposed to go. His gut would tell him when he was close, maybe.

Stargarden wasn't wandering as much as he was fleeing with purpose. Frolic was close on his tail today, and Stargarden couldn't escape fast enough. Who was Frolic? Well, Frolic was a rock. There was nothing inherently special about Frolic except for the fact that Stargarden was filled with a great distaste for this one rock. It was small and gray and had no particular or defining features to it but Stargarden knew it when he saw it!
So, what was Stargarden doing when he came into view of the kiokote buck? Kicking Frolic. In fact, he might have kicked the rock right past Lost Memories' head. That didn't stop Stargarden was walking right toward the buck, his head shifting back and forth as he looked behind him as if something was close on his tail. He reached the buck and Frolic when he kicked the rock again, further into the distance.
"Excuse me small mouse, please if you see Frolic then don't let him know I was here. He's right on my tail!" Stargarden said, looking directly at Lost Memories as he spoke.

Lost had certainly not been expecting... well this kind of strange company. Though to be quite frank, the company of most was strange, but to see a rock coming his way was a new kind of strange and he looked at said rock for a moment or three before turning his attention back to the stranger standing there, in front of him, talking to him?
He frowned and tipped his head just a little, "a small mouse?"
That made him look around briefly, though with how he was being looked directly at, it made him wonder. He didn't think himself a small mouse, certainly not! Mice were just so much smaller, weren't they? Yes, they were. That much he knew for a fact.
"Frolic?" Not very talkative, but perhaps more parrot-like as he was startled, to say the least, by this encounter. Usually, he had no real issues with words but he was coming up a little blank, just then.

Who was Frolic? WHO WAS FROLIC? Stargarden seemed confused by this question, tilting his head back and forth as if trying to focus in on the subject. Stargarden's glowing eyes narrowed in on the distance behind him, expecting to see Frolic appear any second. He hadn't expected to stop mid-chase but luck seemed to be on his side. There was no way that Frolic wouldn't have caught up to him by now! With a sigh of relief, Stargarden drew his attention back to the kiokote, or small mouse in his eyes.
"It seems I'm safe for now, small mouse. Thank you for your concern." The stag said, his voice rather jovial.
"You see, Frolic is my nemesis."

Lost was truly beginning to wonder if he wasn't a mouse, at this point. It seemed to be the case in this one's eyes but, the fact that it was only one out of many, perhaps it meant that he wasn't a mouse? How confusing. He almost felt ready to keep on moving but there was this need, still, this desire to be quite certain that, just maybe, this was indeed the stag he had perhaps been looking for? After all, he had been looking, right? Possibly.
Shaking it off, mentally more than physically, Lost turned his attention back to the stag, head tipped just slightly so. "Your nemesis?"
It seemed that he wasn't quite done being a parrot but there were no more rocks coming his way, so he couldn't complain, not really. Instead of thinking about things that he should not, Lost tried to focus once more on the fact that he was in need of a little bit of a blessing and just maybe... well perhaps best humour the stag for now, it was most likely the safest option.

Stargarden seemed to move on rather suddenly from the preoccupying thought that something was following him. He stopped fidgetting and he was no longer looking behind his shoulder. He looked downward toward Lost Memories, stretching his hindlegs and forelegs in one long arc of his back. Stag form felt stiff today like his wings were being stifled, and he couldn't shake the feeling even with the stretch.
"Oh yes, my nemesis," he said, his tone quite serious. The itching wouldn't go away though, and rather suddenly he shifted into crane form. He squawked some, expanding his wings out into the air and giving them a good stretch into the light breeze before shifting seamlessly back into stag form.
"And that's how I met the Moon."

Briefly, Lost looked back to the way he'd come from. He wondered if she was waiting for him to come back. He couldn't quite recall if he'd told her that he was going to roam for a bit. He could find his way back, that wasn't the problem. It was the little things that he had trouble recalling and the things from long before he could even think to remember that were lost to time.
Most perhaps would have startled at the sudden shifting, but he only blinked a moment, tipping his head back up to the crane that was only crane for a moment before it was no more and he gave a small stretch of his own, nothing big, something that was more a shift of his weight for comfort. He still wasn't quite sure what to make of the stag.
"Perhaps you could help me." He finally ventured, playing more than the part of the parrot. Maybe distracting the stag from other roaming thoughts would help?

Stargarden looked at Lost Memories as they stretched, audibly awing as it happened. How cute was that?
"Of course, sweet mouse. Do you need help getting back home? You're welcome to sit on my back," Stargarden offered, leaning over so that his tail dipped over onto the ground. It should be easier for the mouse to climb up over his tail and onto his back that way! Nothing happened though, so Stargarden looked perplexed. Perhaps they didn't need his help? He couldn't possibly think of what else they might need but he simply waited for their response.

There it was, the mouse thing again. It made him wonder, truly but he tried not to dwell on it too much, he couldn't right? Possibly right. He brightened, however, just for a moment, before confusion swam back into his mind and he tipped his head to the other side just barely.
"I know my way home, one of the few things I do remember." Not that he minded, he'd gotten used to his lot in life and he was fine with it, very much so. "You see, my companion, she's expecting little ones and I was hoping, maybe, to be able to find a kind soul who would perhaps be willing to bless them. If you would know of anyone?"
Would he assume that this stag would do it? Perhaps it was best to be safe. If so, he would be quite happy, if not, perhaps he could be pointed in the right direction.

Stargarden simply swished his tail up and off the ground, grinning all the while. What an independent mouse! Of course, he didn't consider that the mouse had a companion waiting on him. It drew Stargarden's thoughts away, and his head tilted upward to the sky. Oh, how he longed for his beloved moon again. Hopefully, soon, he would be able to join her in the night sky again.
"Oh, a family!" Stargarden seemed absolutely delighted, undeniably thinking about a family of mice running the fields.
"My beloved and I love big families. We fill the sky with stars, you know," he said with a small hum, swishing his tail happily as he thought about her.
"I think everyone should have a big family. You will, too, you know. The moon wouldn't have it any other way."
Stargarden's eyes were glowing so intensely as he looked at Lost Memories. The stag moved to turn but then he paused.
"Oh, but keep your family out of the fields at night. Owls are mighty quick."
Then Stargarden began to walk toward the direction Frolic the rock had been kicked earlier. Hopefully, they wouldn't cross paths this time!
