:: Shroud's life to date…
Shroud's father, the Zikwa lorekeeper, Buried Alive, was one of the first to emerge from the caves into the Swamp, and, consequently, Shroud was one of the first crossbreeds to be born. He was the only one of three to inherit his father's Zikwa blindness, and the only one to inherit his Kimeti mother's dark pelt, a smear of mud – or, as it were, a living grave – next to his sunny siblings. In spite of his deeply undistinguished appearance, he is notable for his verve and adventure, often finding himself into perilous situations a functionally blind Zikwa with no other especial sensory capabilities really should not be in, even if by accident. Always aiming to live life to the fullest, he has come through it all with a lot…a lot of pain, but also accomplishment.

Part of his motivation for such is that, like many Zikwa, he'd dreamed of only death in the sac, and this life is a gift he is intent on living utmost, so that he may return to the earth with no regrets. But more urgently than that, he has inherited his catatonic mother's peculiar condition, except his is for a day each month, rather than all month long. For a day of each month, his body is a prison: he is able to hear and feel, but unable to move, nor speak. Shroud dreads not the enveloping embrace of death, but he does dread the agony of this rigid cage, and each time he is freed from it, his desire to experience life brims over.

That was the impetus behind his decision to join the expedition to the Mountain Obelisk, despite his mindfulness over being a potential liability for a task force. Although he was careful to stay back as appropriate, the unusual circumstances of the Mountain Obelisk saw him get into plenty of trouble and action anyway, and he returned to the Swamp with a proliferation of extreme experiences, and a newfound grace to face his lifelong problems with.

:: Why Shroud should be considered for Legendary status…
An early Zikwa-Kimeti crossbreed, Shroud embodies a balance of two worlds. He lives in the Zikwa caves to care for his family, yet travels much of the swamp with a Kimeti spirit for adventure. He is keenly aware of and careful to work around his shortcomings from his lack of sight, yet throws himself into dicey situations with zest. He is good-humoured and ever optimistic, yet his luck is incredibly…incredibly bad. His dream was of death and he fears it not, treating it with tenderness, yet aims to live life to the fullest it can be, and cares for all life as well, displaying much of that in the Mountain Obelisk expedition, where he endeavoured to save the shard-afflicted animals they faced in spite of his own shard-inflicted rage.

As a Legendary, he would be a compassionate symbol of balance, who looks like death, but lives to the fullest without letting his deficiencies stop him, and has been tempered with much experience and pain. That seems like the sort of thing that would behove an emissary of the Motherfather. Also, he just has really, really bad luck, and a lot of his RPs see him experience hilariously tragic events. This will probably not change if he becomes a Legendary, so his blessing RPs would probably be pretty fun.
