Lyric was in a good mood. Good things had happened! Words and sounds were all swirling around in her head, begging to be sung aloud. But the young doe had restraint, and patience! She could wait until she saw him again, so she could sing for him and let him know all of her lovely thoughts and feelings. It would be better that way, anyway. He would enjoy it better if he was the first one she told, if he got to share in the exciting news when she came back to him.

She took a few steps forward, before excitedly bouncing. No! She wanted to talk about it and sing about it now! She felt like she needed to tell someone as soon as possible or she would cry. Lyric was too excited, too full of that tight-wound anxious energy that came with having a good secret and no one to tell it to! He wouldn't be hurt if he wasn't the very first person she told, right?

She didn’t want to give away her secret to another kin but maybe an eaglehound would be different. One had just arrived, padding out of the brush, white and orange with glowing eyes, staring at her curiously as she bounced back and forth.

Like a dream, or a coincidence, a pretty eaglehound appeared suddenly. Lyric paused her bouncing, for a moment, and tilted her head. "Hello! Would you like to hear a secret, or maybe a song? I can do one, or both." She laughed happily. An eaglehound would be different, it would still allow her to get out this wonderful energy she held and still let Like A Feather be the first to know, really.

She hummed a few notes to the eaglehound. A secret was a lot like a song, especially if no one else heard you sing.

The eagehound ruffled his head feathers and woofed encouragingly, clearly wanting her to continue. He even swayed his head in time to the few notes that she had hummed.

More, the glowing eyes said.

"You liked it!" It was less a question than a statement, Lyric assumed everyone liked her music, and the eaglehound's movements were clearly enjoyment. She wiggled in excitement and began to hum a little more, then singing a song. She smiled brightly, enjoying the breezy, silly words.

"We played for hours or days
Dancing all kinds of ways
Swaying in the breeze
And hiding near the trees

You laugh and make me smile
I would love to stay a while
We can look at the sky
Never wondering why

You think I'm very pretty
So I made a sweet ditty
I don't know your goals
But I think I'm having foals!"

Lyric laughed again. She said it aloud! Her little secret.

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... ncert1.png[/imgleft] The Killing Moon found her delightful. As her song came to an end he gave an enthusiastic ‘whuff’ and nodded his head with pleasure. Then he shifted into his stag form, the eaglehound shadow on his heels, tall and handsome, red locks flowing and his voice deep and rich as he sang back -

“Such a lovely song,
and you are not wrong,

Your suspicions are true,
and I’m glad that you knew.

Now it’s easy to say,
that I bless them this day.

With a voice that is sweet,
and a strong sense of beat.

Just like their mother,
And I’m sure they will love her.”

He’d never blessed in sign before but it was quite enjoyable.

Lyric gasped with delight as the hound transformed into a tall stag, and listened to him sing. A blessing for her children, more than she could ask for. Hopefully they would grow into bright, beautiful songs. Feather would be pleased to hear that too. "Your voice is lovely! Thank you for the blessing." She laughed and bowed her head to the stag. "If you ever want another song, I'd be happy to sing for you again, you're a great audience."
