"My win." he said, thoughtfully, giving the game board a distant, unfocused look.
"Do I get a prize? Were we competing for something?"

"You know, I don't have any idea. We probably should have said if there were stakes before we started. What do you want?" Henry leaned against the wall of the flower shop, not looking too fussed about a penalty.

"Hm." Will said, looking around them at the picturesque flower shop, bustling with people concerned with everything that wasn't the two young men discussing their dreams, the faint sounds of merriment drifting through the open door from the festival that felt impossibly far away outside.
"If it were a movie, the penalty would be a kiss, I think," he said.

Okay, he had been flirting. Great. Henry wasn't crazy.
"I'm serious about everything," Henry said, twisting his hands behind him, but he looked at Will, and he was so handsome and perfect he could melt. "Your rabbit is wonderful. You are too."
He pushed back his hair. "I think a kiss is fair."

He hadn't expected Henry to take him up on the floated offer. Will was used to any flirting that he did flying well over other people's heads; it was more a verbal game than anything he expected to pull up a bite. It was like a dog finally catching one of those cars he'd been chasing; he was immediately unsure what you did next.
"I'm serious, too," he said. He didn't have anywhere else to go, and there was no chance he'd ever meet someone else like Henry, even if he lived for a thousand years.
He was blushing, though, which probably wasn't giving a confident impression. It was just a kiss; a kiss was nothing.
He'd never kissed anyone before.
Ah shit, he thought and pushed himself into moving forward before he could talk himself out of it, throwing his arms around Henry and leaning on instinct to give him a kiss that was meant to be cute, chase and polite but ended up a lot more passionate than he intended.

The embrace was more urgent than coffee and flowers, the attention to his lips thorough. Being ravished outright wasn't something Henry had expected, especially on the whole from a handsome stranger that he'd shown his very weird notebook and bought brunch, but Henry himself felt the same foggy threads of urgency, as if the moment might go through his hands like trying to hold water.
Will was soft, and close, and the fabric of his shirt bunched easily in his hands.

As soon as his senses caught up with the rest of him, Will realised how over the top he'd been. He'd been going for a chaste first kiss, reluctantly given as part of the wager, but somewhere along the line, the push to make himself act had pushed him into a far more intense interaction than he'd intended.
God he was such a fuckup.
It had been too easy to lose himself in Henry, and as he drew back again, it was as if some part of him lingered with the other man, like heartache he couldn't forget. It had been too familiar, too good, and he felt like he had a lump in his throat.
He laughed a little breathlessly.
"Sorry." he said. "I've never done that before, it might have been a little much."

Henry touched his lips to hide a smile.
"Like being attacked by a very cuddly bunny," he said.

Someone else might have been offended at the n, but deep down, Will wanted to be considered cute and felt good about being informed he was reminiscent of the cuddly sort of bunny. He smiled broadly.
"It was all right?" he said. "Good. That's all I wanted."
He turned his gaze towards the open door. On some gut level, he had a feeling that if they went out there, things would change, that this place was a sanctuary. But it was also public and in its way was restrictive.
"I feel like I've known you for years," he said.

"It was the cutest penalty I've ever been subjected to," Henry said.
"Hmm," Henry said, "I know what you mean. Do you believe in reincarnation?"

Will considered this. "I think I do," he said. It felt murky why he did, and when he reached for the reasons, it seemed in some way like he'd known a person who had reincarnated, but that also felt like a completely insane thought. He tried not to dwell too much on it. "Yes."
He looked Henry over. "Maybe I knew you .. somewhere before? I feel like I did."

Henry shook his head. "No. This is the first time we've met, and definitely the first time we've kissed." Henry just didn't get out much, by choice.
He grinned. "At least, in this lifetime. Or reality."
Henry had tasted overwhelmingly of sugary coffee.
"Um, have you heard about quantum immortality?"

Will gave Henry a strange look, not because of what he'd said, which made perfect sense, but because he'd said it. Every time the man across from him spoke, it felt like he was talking to maybe the last sane person in the world. He was used to carefully cloaking his strangeness in a veneer of normalcy, but sometimes Henry cleaved right through it.
"I have." he said. "That thanks to the nature of quantum and infinite possibilities we never actually die, as there is a place where we survive every death." His eyes lit up. "I can't say anyone else has ever said those two words to me before."
