Something went whizzing past Idle's ear, and she jumped and turned hastily. Not supposed to eat the berries? She was about to ask what the berries were even for, then, when the zikwa who had addressed her demonstrated, making the berries fling at the leaves on the wall. "Oh," Idle said, and huffed. "Is that what we're supposed to do?"

"I'm all right," she answered the question, her tone a little sharp with her embarrassment. "I don't think she was trying to hit me."

Totem came dancing back to the berry booth excited to try her hoof at another round. There were no expectations that she'd do so well again, since she had to go on instinct and hope alone, but maybe she would! It was going to be soooooo much fun either way.

Sniffing around for the berry launcher the very little acha lined up a shot based on previous muscle memory alone. She pulled as much as she could and let fly! She strained to hear against the other noise around her for the sounds of a splat and thought she heard it.

"Did I hit something?? Well, rather, did I hit what I was supposed to hit and not something I wasn't?"

She waited for confirmation and then let out a very excited squeak. Maybe pure luck and a wish was going to be enough!

Totem danced in place and struggled to hold herself still enough to line up another berry - She let it loose, listened for the wet berry noise, and then asked for confirmation from anyone with eyes that maybe smelled trustworthy ... Maybe not the best course of action, but she did get word that she'd done it again!

Her ears twitched all over in excitement as she let loose the next three shots in quick succession. They maybe weren't as accurate as the first two, but she got confirmation that she'd still managed to hit three targets.

She needed to get back to her mother and her responsibilities at the RRT circus, but she was going to use this as proof that she should be allowed to have her own act.

A giddy giggle followed her away from the booth and into the rest of the market. What a great night!

Illuminating’s jubilation at having actually hit her mark with dampened as not only did she get the hosts attention but the Acha she’d nearly hit seemed none too pleased. Her ears flicked back, embarrassed she’d been so clumsy.

“I’m really very sorry.” She stepped away from the sling shooter. “I definitely wasn’t trying to hit you. I promise.” She motioned towards the place she had been. “Would you like to give it a go?”

Prompt: Surprise wandered up to the booth, eyes filled with curiosity as he examined the situation. He watched a few strangers playing, fascinated by the event going on, then headed up to one of the shooters with a full basket. He loaded up the shooter, and carefully aimed it, using his nose to help him guide it. He took a long moment to try to be sure he had it lined up with his target, then he shot. "Heart!" He cried out in delight, when he saw he had hit, and reloaded. He had not noticed that he had bumped the shooter though...

And as such, his second shot hit a different target, the critter this time. He frowned a little, hmmm'ing thoughtfully, but reloaded, deciding to give that target another try. A shot, and a hit! He danced a little in place, happily, because he had never tried such a game before and he felt good at the fact that he was not failing. He relined the shooter up for his next shot, aiming for the heart again... A shot, and a hit! He beamed and made his last try, but... As he did, he slipped a little, knocking his shooter off-target, and he sighed in disappointment for a moment, but then shrugged, generally pleased with his performance and successes!

Prompt: Unlife flitted up to the chaotic booth, steps unsteady and eyes darting around erratically. She smirked seeing others stained by errant berries, a breathy giggle signalling her amusement to those around her. She liked this place, and her excitement grew as she made her way up to take her own chaotic turn at launching berries at whatever target made itself available.

Berries flew at varying speeds, 3 hitting the 'correct' marks, while 2 others flew haphazardly. No doubt they found their way to other more unsuspecting targets. Glee made her shiver, a peculiar sight as the unfamiliar feeling left her twitching and shaking. Her head swivelled side to side, suddenly very interested in where the two errant berries landed - or didnt.

There was a commotion of berries and bodies being splattered, or rather one body. Following Born of Deaths movements with her eyes she didn't want to just walk off, but she didn't want to get into the middle of the incident since it wasn't her booth. Moving so she was within range of Born of Death she kept to herself while assessments were being made and the two kins seemed to have worked through the situation.

"I feel that would be a fun game of it's own. Shooting berries at one another with different teams being different colors and then each being worth a point if their on an opponent."

Her offer of some sort of light merriment towards the situation.

Prompt: The apology seemed to mollify Idle, and she lifted her chin. "I accept your apology," she replied, although it was still a little haughty. She examined the little shooter. "I suppose I could try it."

She fumbled with the device. It took a couple of false starts, but she managed to get the hang of it. Three of her berries hit targets, while two splattered on the wall. "It's difficult," she complained, and stepped away from the shooter. Someone else could try it; she was done.

The zikwa's posture relaxed visibly at the assurance that everyone was alright. "Oh good." The booth wasn't meant to be dangerous, but Born was aware that accidents could always happen. They stumbled into them frequently. "No harm done, then." It sounded like the one that'd nearly been hit was attempting the game, now and Born nodded, turned to wander away, though pale ears folded back at the following complaint.

Well, they couldn't please everyone.

Their head tilted towards Meadow's voice, and they gave a little hum of amusement. "It could be, with the proper players." Born wasn't so sure they'd do very well at it, and though their pale hide showed the evidence of having been hit by a berry or two, they weren't in a hurry to be pelted over and over with no hope of returning fire. "There are many, I'm sure, that would be thrilled to take on such a challenge."

As they walked, a slow meander back towards the where they thought the rock wall was, they missed the subtle growl of Haven down near their ankles, and bumped unexpectedly into the tail end over another kin with tall ears and wild whiskers.

Sparkling Sunrise was delighted to be back to the berry berry death death booth. She pranced in, taking a deep breath to get in all the amazing berry smells. Fortunately for her, a spot was already open for her to start! The young totoma bent down to look at the basket of berries, inspecting them. The temptation to eat a few crept up again, but she knew that wouldn't be very nice. Instead, she placed on in the sling and let it fly!

Sparkling Sunrise had improved her aim over this experience it seemed. The one or two leaves in her space that depicted critters were splattered with several berries. Somehow, the ones with kin on them stayed clean the entire time. Okay, so maybe her aim wasn't actually improved all that much. There may or may not have been one berry that cleared the wall entirely and might have splatted on the back of a kin's head in the booth next door. Who could say?

Eye of Newt and Trouble strolled through the market casually. One might almost think that they hadn’t been carefully scoping the market out to avoid any wayward mad totoma. Newt still hadn’t quite gotten over the trauma of the badger totoma’s challenges the previous market, so she was wary.

But a nice simple berry toss shouldn’t be too difficult, she thought. In fact, this one was EXPLICITLY not deadly. Perfect!

She strutted importantly to the pile of berries and managed to land a couple on the critter right away. She celebrated loudly, to which Trouble the owlcat coughed up a hairball. Undeterred by this overwhelming display of enthusiasm, Newt proceeded to spectacularly whiff the next three throws, and ended up narrowly missing other kin with the berries.

She still celebrated like she’d won the entire market. The biggest victory was not nearly drowning or having to hike up a mountain.
