Under the Rose saw two kin run out of the lions' den in quick succession. Shaking his head, he decided to go back in to see how serious the situation had gotten.

He found himself face to face with a lion and assurances that this was safe. He stared at the lion, at the clicker in his hand, and at the lack of secondary containment- along with the lack of barriers between the volunteers and the lions.

He was not optimistic.

A lion looked at him, glaring. He glared back. "Don't even start with me."

The lion stepped up on the pedestal. Under the Rose took a step back. "I mean it, cat, I'm not afraid to write up a safety report."

The lion stood on its hind legs. Under the Rose stared at it. "Yes, you are very tall."

The lion roared and Under the Rose swooned. He came to outside of the den, back in his kin form, remembering nothing other than something being a terrible idea

Simple Gifts knew how to work with wolves, but lions were something new for her.

Lions at least were social, so it was probably pretty similar to working with wolves, right?

It started out well; the lion was at least engaging with her, although the young-ish male was constantly looking over her shoulder to get reinforcement from his real trainer. Fair enough- she didn't really know what she was doing.
