He hesitated as the serpent rose up to its full height. MotherFather, these things were quite large weren't they. Its tongue flickered curiously, its large wings tucked in at its side.
He froze, holding his breath, as the great serpent slithered up to him, curling around his neck with a rumbling that he hoped was a sound of endearment.
Oh, would you look at that! Content spied a stunning little owl, snoozing in a low hole in a tree. Carefully, he approached, hopping up on the tree trunk.
The owl opens a large eye and watches the pale Kiokote warily.
And with a flurry of wings the owl was off. Too bad... Let's keep looking!
Big. Something big and slithery, with big wingbeats to match. Definitely some kind of predator... Arbitrary was rather uncertain, their fat little Zikwa body not exactly used to running far and definitely the kind of delicious thing such a beast would gobble up in seconds were it the littlest bit hungry. And even if it wasn't, providing for something that big...? Oh boy. Seemed difficult.34. A Thunder Serpent has appeared!
And right from that into the growling presence of another predator... Though this one seemed a bit smaller, it was just as angry at the stumbling Zikwa running into it. Nope, that wasn't good.33. A Sun Wolf has appeared!
Then came the angry gekkering of a little fox, which was at least something they felt... more comfortable with? They trotted forward towards it, but got tangled in the tall grass and ended up tripping over their feet, giving the little thing plenty of time to scurry away. Darn it.19. A Fire Fox has appeared!
They happened to go faceplanting right into... a bunch of vines? No, wait, they were... moving vines? Maybe this was some sort of animal, too, they thought. Something squishy and floaty. How novel. They tilted their head at the squishy thing.17. A Heal Jelly has appeared!
There was a slight zap of something unpleasant from one of the floaty vines, and Arbitrary dipped their head lower. They hoped they hadn't jabbed the poor thing with their horn, though they again didn't even know what the thing was to feed it or anything. Maybe just... Staying still would work again?2a) The familiar watches you warily!
The tentacles(?) brushed against Arbitrary's back again, but this time they didn't seem to be sting-y. That was an improvement...? They tried to steady their breathing so as not to startle this... Whatever it was.4: The familiar is uncertain, and approaches slightly.
