Re: [ORP] The Royal Rainbow Troupe Impromptu Party Fun Time!

The party was getting busier and everyone seemed to be mingling happily and sampling the various treats on offer and when Watch Me peeked over at Perfect Star again, the dog seemed to be falling asleep. Oh my, it was time to put on a show! Before she was too sluggish and well fed to do any sort of strenuous activity.
“Excuse me a moment,” he begged of his current company and then strode to the centre of the area, in front of the bonfire where the dirt had been stomped down to make a nice circle.
“May I have everyone’s attention, please!”
As usual the Kiokote didn’t have to try hard to reach all ears, his voice naturally loud and booming. “It is time,” he said, once all eyes were on him, “for Perfect Star to perform!”
There was an orchestrated cheer from the Royal Rainbow Troupe.
Hearing her name, Perfect Star raised her head from her light snooze and yipped.
“Come, darling,” Watch Me beckoned.
Believing herself about to be the recipient of a treat or cuddle, Perfect Star gamely rose, padding to Watch Me’s side where she stared up at him hopefully, her entire backside wagging along with her tail.
“Are you ready, sweet one?” Watch Me murmured, dipping his head to recieve slobbery kisses and give her a good pep talk. “Just like we practised. I’m so very proud of you. You’ll get so much love after you do this one thing. Are you ready? You look ready!”
Back to putting on the show, Watch Me backed up to give her space.
“Now! Perfect Star... up!”
The sand dog looked up at him with an open-wide grin, tongue lolling, head slightly tilted. There was a long and quiet moment in which Watch Me started to sweat slightly and his ears began to droop in disappointment.
And then...
... Perfect Star...
... stood up!
On her two hind legs she balanced, pudgy tummy on show, front legs tucked into her chest. For five whole seconds (long enough to be considered a trick) she teetered on her back paws.
Then she dropped back down to all fours and gave a cute little bark.
Tears of joy in his eyes, Watch Me got down on his knees in order to give and receive Star some much deserved cuddles and kisses. “Well done! You did it! You’re such a good girl, a wonderful girl, daddy is proud of you.”
Perfect Star could now go sleep and eat while enjoying extra attention from the adoring Troupe and Watch Me would enjoy the rest of the party knowing he had the most precious of pets.
