Task 3: In the dark of the caves, something skitters. Granted, there's always things skittering about in the caves, and Easy Rhythm is accustomed to feeling other kin's familiars brushing by soon afterward, whether it's the tough skin of a cave worm, or the smooth carapace of a giant spider. This time, though... while smooth, the touch is unusually chilly, almost ghostly. She pulls back some, realizing her piscine form suddenly - an underwater cave! How exciting to be a cave fish. Her eyesight is as blurry as ever of course, but she still manages to make out a pale form scuttling off along the side of the wall. After a few moments, she's able to wiggle her fins and begin swimming after the form. Truly she's just curious, wanting to explore her surroundings and the mysterious familiar as it hurries off. Winding tunnels curl and stretch, left and right, up and down, but she has no fear of getting lost when surely this creature is likely leading her to its owner, or at least somewhere that they might find some food.

It feels as if they're slowly going upwards... and finally with one more twist in the tunnel there's air! She's moving with such speed that she leaps up out of it entire, air rushing through her gills and chilling her scaly skin, a moment of exhilaration that ends when she lands on the damp, sandy cave floor, well out of the water. Ah... she's stuck. Oh dear. Though she wiggles energetically, it only nets her a few inches. Finally though, the pale familiar has stopped running, and in fact has started to move towards her instead.

Closer, her shoddy vision can finally make out enough to discern its form: a spectral spider, legs barely there wisps and multiple eyes gleaming unnaturally. Hang on... why's it coming so close? She doesn't own one of these... ah. Oh no. It's hungry, isn't it? Looks like fish is on the menu...

Ingredients

▢8 ounce package cream cheese , room temperature
▢1/4 cup mayonnaise
▢1/4 cup sour cream
▢2 cloves garlic , minced
▢¼ cup chopped green onion
▢1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
▢1/4 teaspoon salt*
▢1 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
▢½ of a lemon , juiced
▢1 cup freshly shredded cheddar cheese , divided
▢½ teaspoon hot sauce , or more, to taste
▢1 pound fresh jumbo lump crab meat

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Add cream cheese to a mixing bowl and beat until smooth. Stir in mayo, sour cream, garlic, green onion, Old Bay seasoning, salt, Worcestershire, and lemon juice.
2. Add ¾ cup cheddar cheese and hot sauce and mix until smooth. Stir in crab meat.
3. Spread into a 9″ pie dish or similar size baking pan and sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
4. Serve warm, with slices of sourdough bread, crackers, tortilla chips or chopped cold veggies.
