RP response: Cub’s ears flickered back and his hoof began making patterns in the earth, as he awkwardly stuttered, “I, I mean, who-who told you? I don’t hurt them, I swear! I could, they’re really stupid and easy to catch but I don’t. I just... give them a spook.” His head dropped, hangdog expression in full force. He peeked a look at her, as she laughed. Hoping she wasn’t upset and well, she didn’t seem to be.

“I like the way they squawk.” He admitted after a moment and was then thankfully ushered on his way. Phew.

RP response: Seasons knows her mom is a little odd, but she's pretty quiet. Maybe she has a secret hobby of doing these things when she goes off on her own? Maybe she's a big flirt outside of her relationship with her and her siblings' dad?

RP response: Lakeside Lover considered this revelation for a moment and then finally concluded, “oh yes, I could see that being the case. In fact, that makes a lot of sense.. He gave an uncensored bob of his head. “They do fight an awful lot. I hope they sort their differences out one day.”

RP response: “Oh yeah, that checks out,” System Shock replied with a guffaw. “She’s never been any fun at all. Takes after,” his eyes darted around quickly to make sure she wasn’t hiding somewhere nearby, “mum.” He preemptively flinched but no angry owlcat appeared. Phew. “I yell at clouds all the time tho!” He lifted his head proudly and then seemed surprised when she ushered him away. “Hey hey, don’t make me leave, tell me more!”

RP response: "I heard that Flowers Tall as Trees likes to knock on wood and speak in tongues. She thinks it's a hoot, and does it regularly. She even thinks its magic, and can show her the future. She tells kin's fortunes this way, so she says. Though, she often laughs and giggles as she does. Maybe she knows its all hog wash."

Hot gossip: "I heard that your best friend loves stepping on cracks and spilling secrets."
RP response: Was it winter market without stopping for tea? How Quaint did not think so. The zikwa remembered previous climes and times listening and sharing gossip with a certain acha. Perhaps there was more outlandish nonsense to listen to.

The air wasn't as cold as last winter, mind, but it would be rude to snub. And that might lead to more gossip.

So How Quaint made an appearance before time slipped by.

She took her drink, and listened to what Sunny had to say.

As expected, nonsense.

The zikwa took a moment to think.

"I am not sure...that I have a best friend."

She considered further.

"Unless you mean my mate?" Wherever he ran off to in the hustle and bustle. Again. "I should hope that he knows to avoid cracks! He's so big, he'll break the ground!"

The second piece of gossip made her flick her ears in annoyance. "And he had better not be sharing anything...private. Honestly." she sniffed.

Hot gossip: "I heard that your familiar gets a kick out of knocking on wood and stealing hearts.
RP response: Alluring Lullaby was a little confused by the bit of gossip she'd heard and looked at Sunny. "What's this I hear about your familiar liking to steal hearts and knocking on wood? Is it like...trying to be cautious? Hopeful? Superstitious? I don't get it." to say she was baffled was an understatement, really.

RP response: There was an alarmed look on Sunset Waves' face as she sat there with Sunny, trying to enjoy her tea. "I heard some really disturbing things...they're about your brother...he apparently hates eating funny mushrooms...if you catch my drift...and then setting fires. What's wrong with mushrooms? They're tasty. Maybe not funny ones. I don't know if I've ever had a funny one. Maybe I have? I guess it's a good thing he doesn't like setting fires. But mushrooms!? he's missing out!"

RP response: "I don't get it?" Distracted started as he looked at Sunny with some confusion. "I don't get why your mom finds it funny to step on cracks, and fight fat fish?" He really was just clueless about it all. "I also don't get this whole...tea thing. It's okay I guess? Now back to your mom..."

Hot gossip: "I heard that the caimain in the swamp have always wanted to yell at clouds and fight imaginary friends."
RP response: I heard that someone has trained some caiman in the swamp to snap randomly at the sky! It's really quite dangerous and I don't know why someone would do that, some nonsense about the attacking imaginary cloud demons or something. I didn't even know caiman thought about something so random! Someone is being a menace!

Hot gossip: "I heard that your sister loves knocking on wood and shaking bushes.
RP response: "It was Sunny," Sleepy Time whispered conspiratorially, leaning in close to his daughter. "I heard that her sister loves knocking on wood - like, you know, trees and logs and stuff - and also, she shakes all of the bushes to look for kin hiding them so that no one is eavesdropping."

"You mean like we are?" said Darling dryly.

RP response: Bittersweet Fruit laughed when he heard about his mom's game - she always learned such silly stuff when she was traveling around. Still, he was more than willing to indulge his mother and so he leaned in close to share the "gossip" he had, making sure to add in an extra little flair at the end for her. It was enough to make him giggle as he finished, amused by the little statement.

RP response: I know he's your dad but I heard something weird about him. Apparently he thinks it's funny to knock on wood and it helps him steal hearts? Is your dad that lonely? That's a really weird sense of humor, is your humor like that too? Is the knocking on wood part some kind of double word play? Weird. You and your family are weird.

RP response: Beside his father and sister, Dream twisted his head around to whisper (a little too loudly), "Did you hear what Darling said about that one kin who likes scaring cranes? Isn't she your, like, bestest friend in the whole wide world? Like, in the entire swamp?"

"The crane thing is just a rumor," Sleepy Time said, with some dignity.

"That's not what she said," said Dream, "and I thought I heard something about secrets? Like, you know, she tells them all and stuff?"

"Go take a nap," said Sleepy Time.
