Favorite Prehistoric Creature: The Megalodon!

Questionable Paleo Art: "The long-necked sauropod Mamenchisaurus" by Sergey Krasovskiy

Favorite Fossil: Fossils of the earliest-known fungus, Tortotubus, were discovered by paleontologists in Scotland in 2016. Paleontologists estimate that the fossil is about 440 million years old. Not only is the Tortotubus fossil the oldest fungus, it is the oldest fossil of any strictly land-based organism ever found. Tortotubus has cord-like structures that are similar to modern fungi. These structures are also seen in other land-based organisms and scientists believe that they helped Tortotubus spread out and colonize land surfaces. Tortotubus and other early fungi played an important role in forming the soil and nutrients that were needed for plants and animals to transition onto land.

Rising From Beneath sees his brother in such a state and just exhales in pity. "Very well brother, I will distract these turtles for you. You know, I did quite a good job in taking care of some pups in another booth some days ago. Handling these should prove to be just as easy."
He sauntered over to the sound of activity closer to the shore to see nearly a dozen of the strange turtles chasing each other or participating in friendly shell clashing. He stepped up to them, making sure to tap his hoof on a rock to get their attention. When many of them were heading towards him, he back away slowly towards the water line. He was much faster on land, so a chase in the water would at least be for fair for the creatures.
As planned, the turtles started to give chase as he galloped in the shallow water towards what he knows is a living coral reef. There, he aimed to distract the turtles with the colorful fish that lived in the area. Using his frill to agitate the water, he induced the fish peacefully living in the reef to school which caused the turtles to circle around them. There would most likely be some predation to happen here, but that's just how nature works and if it distract them for even longer, then that works for him.
