Optional response:Waves listened to the warming. He wasn't afraid, he'd stares down plenty of critters in order to get them to back down. He had the stare mastered. He opens his eyes wide, but not huge and he steadies his mind. He gazes deep, deep into the fowl's eyes, deep into it's beady, black orbs. Deeper, deeper, look inside them, see the spark of the Motherfather within. The bird turns away and the spell is broken.

Slough did not do winter markets. Slough did not do kin at all. In fact, Slough did not really do anything much of anything. Except for lurking, thinking about his lost girlfriend and hunting critters who wandered into his territory.
But he’d been doing that for a long time.
And now he was tired, and he was bored and he wanted to do something new.
And now he had boots on.
And a hat.
It was very uncomfortable, and very weird.
At least staring he understood very well, though as time ticked on, a bead of sweat running down his neck, the odd birds he was challenging seemed entirely unflinching. So he cheated, just a little.

He actually starting to enjoy this. The birds looked unnerved, fluffing their feathers unhappily as he stared unblinkingly in their direction. His tail weaving patterns behind him, like a whip ready to strike. They were his cattle and he was their cowboy... was what he might have thought if he knew what either of those things were.
