"Maybe I would like that," she mused shyly, letting the water run across her ankle, feeling the sting, "I've had such a good time here today, bordering the snow."
She smiled at him with gratitude.
"I think I would like to see the snow, the great big mounds of snow. When should we go?"

He hadn't quite thought she would take him up on his offer. Perhaps there was more Totoma in her than she'd think, yet, and all the Acha beside. A pair of misfits. It cheered him. He hopped up.
"No time like the present," he laughed, "or any time you fancy. But the snows would have come to the mountains by now, so any time you're ready to fly."

Your Eyes laughed also, but sat up with anticipation, "how spontaneous you are!
"If my whims would suit yours, then I should see them before I lose my mettle or my guide."
She straightened her legs out into a standing stance, and shook a hoof to stretch.

"Excellent," he cried, "what boldness! Let us go, my lady, and I shall see you to the mountain's foot and back, before this winter is over."
Here was a doe after his own heart, and it felt full at this very moment, drunk on the companionship of a fellow outcast. Just what the chill had ordered.

She pranced ahead, a little bit, and turned her head to look at him, brow heavy on her head. In the cold, it would serve her well, and right now, she felt warm enough inside to bear it.
"After you," she said, pleasurably, and bowed.
