Peep’s nose crinkled with mirth but continued speaking after the brief interruption, clearly pleased with the others' eagerness. There were many parents she had come across in her travels who were not interested in raising their young, and while she did not fault them for that choice, the opposite always raised her spirits.

“I can tell,” she said. “Shall we leave now? After all, no time like the present!”
