[PRP] Is Wanderlust a Family Trait...? (Shadowed Moon & Forgotten Feathers)

Post by Appeal »

Forgotten Feathers followed along, her two hounds nestled up beside her as if to keep her on track. She didn't know where she was going, but that wasn't a particularly new feeling. She was never great with directions to begin with, although thanks to her companions she'd gotten quite better at it... well, that was a stretch. She didn't get good at anything, except maybe following them. They were always quite good at it.

"Oh, I hope she likes me." She muttered, uncertain of where they were going but very certain on where her thoughts were now.

She listened to him. She didn't need more time to prepare. It would never be enough, she felt. "It's okay. I'm ready," she said.

[PRP] Is Wanderlust a Family Trait...? (Shadowed Moon & Forgotten Feathers)

Post by SerinaNight »

The buck paced in place a little, almost regretting asking her if she wanted to wait instead of just doing it... as honestly maybe he was the one who wanted to wait. Shadowed Moon wasn't concerned per say, but despite his excitement the rush of new feelings was starting to catch up with him. The buck had found himself panicking on the inside, well, maybe not just the inside but he tried to ignore the embarrassment that thought brought and pull himself together. After all, he was the one who suggested this, the least he could do was be the one to lead the way, emotionally and physically. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, and taking a deep breath, Shadowed Moon stepped forward. Turning to smile at Forgotten Feathers as they approached the clearing, the buck seemed less nervous, at least outwardly. "It's this way," he started, much calmer now, his gentle and welcoming tone not completely hiding his excitement, "just past these trees and we'll reach our Resting Place."

The buck stepped through the trees, pulling some branches out of the way with his horns to let her grandmother through and looking around the clearing. "Here we are. It's a bit empty right now, but welcome all the same." The buck said, his eyes beaming despite his face's attempts at remaining partially stoic. For a moment he didn't see anyone, and began to wonder if they'd left already, but Amber's sheen caught his eye. "Looks like most of the herd is away, but... ah, there they are!" The buck happily motioned toward the surprisingly large rock, one who's low entrance hid their nesting hollow, and under whoms shadow the twins were barely visible, though nearby in the sun Sunlit Rock and Amber were quite obvious on the green grass. "Over here, I'll introduce you." The buck said reassuringly with another smile, beginning his trot over.

"Ah perfect, Father's back." The doe said, smirking before her expression turned mildly ponderous. Following behind the buck was white doe, which initially drew her attention, something new after all, but she quickly realized this new kin looked surprisingly like the rest of her family, and sighed, a resigned expression crossing her eyes. Of course the new blood would be more of the old- well, now that was new. "I've never seen one of those before~" the doe near purred, eyeing the familiars with interest. Maybe waiting around hadn't been such a waste after all, if those patterns were anywhere near as interesting as they looked from afar.

The doe initially didn't move when Sunlit Rock began speaking, but Murky Shallows started nudging her gently, more purposefully then playful, an odd action if it was just their father. Glancing up the doe nearly jumped out of her skin, not specifically from the white doe, but the large familiars following her (not that she enjoyed meeting new people either way). She bristled a bit and stood up, something she had little difficulty with as Murky Shallows seemed to know she would and was already rising himself.

Murky Shallows resisted the urge to chuckle as Watery Depths stepped behind him, trying to seem nonchalant about it as she peered under his head at the approaching visitors. The buck leaned down and gently nuzzled her cheek reassuringly, intentionally taking a step back and to the side so she was no longer fully behind him, but settled close so their sides brushed together. The doe snorted at him, but simply leaned in closer as her hooves pawed the ground. "Welcome." The buck started with a soothing, warm and gentle tone. Partially for his sister and partially due to the way the buck normally spoke. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Murky Shallows, and this is Watery Depths." His father looked a bit nervous himself so he decided to help with whatever introductions were forthcoming, knowing no one else in the group would. Well, Sunlit Rock might but her welcomes could be a bit strange at times, if they came at all. He glanced at his other sister, and considering she wasn't even looking at the two kin had planned to take over her introduction as well.

However, before anything else could be said, Sunlit Rock had stepped to the side of the group, not close enough for the familiars to lunge at, but close enough for a better look. "Now that is something new. I've seen red before, but that looks closer to-" The doe pauses, eyes sparkling, "do those have feathers? Where do you find something like this? With such a pattern as well~ To think I was worried this encounter wouldn't be interesting." Sunlit Rock glanced up at the white doe and tilted her head, eyes still fixed on the eaglehounds. "I'm Sunlit Rock, it's a pleasure. You wouldn't happen to have more of these would you? Have they laid any..." A pause came over the doe as she began to think of something and her eyes drifted upwards. "...clutches? Litters? I feel like that giant said they had a different name when it wasn't a kin laying them..."

[PRP] Is Wanderlust a Family Trait...? (Shadowed Moon & Forgotten Feathers)

Post by Appeal »

Forgotten Feathers followed along carefully as not to lose him, her blue eyes watching with great interest as she made her way into the clearing with her hounds in tow. They walked along very mindfully, watching the new kin with very careful eyes but remained stoically beside her.

"Yes, please, thank you." It had been awhile since she had been in a larger group of kin, and this was something special.

Forgotten Feathers watched on as the doe checked out the hounds, then she watched the other doe. It was finally the buck that spoke, a very gentle tone that was reassuring. She nodded her head along as he welcomed her. She looked back Shadowed Moon and then back at the group.

"I-It's a pleasure to meet you all," she said with a light stutter, happy but nervous about the whole thing. She was oh so happy to meet them but she worried they wouldn't be as happy to meet her. "My name is Forgotten Feathers."

The question about the hounds was totally unexpected though, not something she expected at all. "I-I'm afraid not, I'm so sorry. It's just these two, and they find me. There must be more of them out there somewhere, though but I don't know much about them. They have a good sense of direction, and are very protective though!"

They had saved her, that's for sure. Thinking about that night was still not a memory she liked to recall but it was definitely an important lesson.

[PRP] Is Wanderlust a Family Trait...? (Shadowed Moon & Forgotten Feathers)

The buck was deciding whether he should say something about Sunlit Rock's... interesting introduction but decided against it. The twins, well Murky Shallows anyway, had introduced themselves quite nicely and thankfully, while odd, since Sunlit Rock's current train of thought was surprisingly inoffensive Shadowed Moon figured he'd just focus on the reason he had brought Forgotten Feathers here in the first place. He was a bit relieved honestly, this was going much better then the buck expected, then again he was known to over worry.

Turning to the twins with a smile, not to exclude Sunlit Rock, but since she was circling the hounds in the other direction so he figured he'd speak towards the two who who were actively listening. She'd join the conversation if she so desired. The buck found himself shifting with excitement, he'd never gotten to introduce his children to one of his own ancestors before, simply their siblings or new herd mates.

"I'm pleased everyone was here so I could introduce you," Shadowed Moon said, turning to Forgotten Feathers with a childish beam before turning back to the twins, "This is my grandmother, I was quite surprised when we wandered into each other."

Watery Depths stared at the doe next to her father, while the revelation of their relation did make her a bit more comfortable, just a bit, she mostly found herself looking between them for the similarities between the two kin. There were quite a few, things she hadn't thought to really notice until just now, like their feather patterns, or colors. Her brother gently bumped her where their sides were resting against each other with a gentle smile, and the doe almost forgot to act indignant about it. "Oh, um, yes. It's nice to meet you." She said, sounding surprisingly genuine, despite the neutrality in her voice.

Her brother nodded, a large smile crossing his face as he turned back to Forgotten Feathers. "We've never gotten to meet one of our father's ancestors before, so thank you for coming to meet us!" It was always nice meeting new people, and it was interesting seeing how similar the two were, in attitude specifically. They both seemed to have that, sheepish anxiety about them, though in different ways. Plus, Murky Shallows had noticed his sister relax slightly, so he was pleased to see her become more willing to interact with the new doe.

The doe stopped for a moment, staring at Forgotten Feathers with a tilted head. She had originally assumed this was another child of his, but apparently she'd been wrong. "I see where he gets it from. You're quite pretty." The doe said, with a smile that was a bit more of a smirk.

"What sort of things do you like to do?" Murky Shallows asked with a genuine curiosity. While he was attempting to keep the conversation going knowing that him and his father would likely be the ones to do so, he was also curious. "It would be fun to share our similarities."

"I'll start," Shadowed Moon said, looking thoughtful, "I suppose, baring being with my family, what I enjoy most would be looking at the moon." The buck chuckled a bit, looking at the sky wistfully. "Next would be wandering, like I was when we met."
