She watched Pride tasting the watercress, her eyes curious to see what she thought about the plant. That sharpness was nice, but she had a suspicion that some might find it unpleasant instead. Night quite liked it, liked the way it left her mouth tasting. In her mind it tasted cleaner, after, though not as clean as some mints.

At the comment about it being refreshing, she grinned and bobbed her head. "I find that it leaves my mouth tasting clean after it, especially if I've had something like egg shell, which coats my tongue".

At the description of hemlock, she gave a slow nod. "Water Hemlock looks much the same, I would say... But they can grow close together, so it can be far too easy to get a mouthful of the wrong plant, if they're growing near each other. Please be careful, it isn't something I want to think you might have happen to you."

Pride Parade nodded, her eyes grave. "I will keep it in mind," the doe promised solemnly.

"That is good. Poisonous foods are never something to play around with." She was solemn, but then shrugged. "Most of the Aggregate berries out there are safe. I know of one poisonous one... It grows as a single, very red berry sitting nestled atop a broad, lobed leaf. There can be multiple on a plant, but each is nestled in it's very own leaf. I do not know of any others, but there could be? But... If it grows on a hard, woody stem, almost twig-like on a strong vine, it's good. Raspberries, blackberries, and so on grow on that!"

Pride Parade nodded as she "Those are the clustered ones, right? Where one berry is made of a bunch of tiny globes together." She let out a sigh, scuffing a hoof over the dirt as she reflected. "There were these... purple ones. Dark, glossy. I avoided them this past moon's waning because I wasn't familiar with them..." She huffed a moment, turning around so she could pout at the memory of past cravings and an uneaten prize.

"Such a shame. Still, it's good to know..."

"Yes! Exactly. Those are the ones I speak of. I only know of one berry plant that might be considered an aggregate that is poisonous. I don't really think it is because..." She tilted her head at the description that Pride Parade mentioned and made a slight face. "Those might have been that one. Pokeberry, but it's a weird one. They're definitely purple, and glossy, but it looks so different from the other berries in this group. It's on a very... Bright pinkish stem, and the berries are not really nestled all that tightly together? They kind of look more like they hang down in bunches, to me, rather than aggregated together like, say, a blackberry."

She gave a slight sigh, because these fruits were so weird to her. "I would generally assume that any non-aggregate in that color IS poisonous, though. I know of Creeper berries, ivy berries, and elderberries that are in the purple to black range. Also, I suggest avoiding ANY red or white berries, unless they're aggregates. I... Don't actually know of a white aggregate, though."

She paused, and blushed a little, realizing she might have been going on a bit long. "I hope I have not been boring or going on too much!"

Pride Parade smiled. "I've been... lonely, lately, I'll admit, she answered, "So the company is nice. Learning is nice, too." Even... no, especially when the kin you were learning from was as different as she was to you.
