CATCH OF THE DAY
42. You reel in a large, meaty fish. This will make a hearty meal for everyone on the Stump!

OOooof. There was something at the end of this line and it was huge. As she reeled it in she wondered if the stump gang would appreciate this thing.

CATCH OF THE DAY
49. You reel in a fish that feels warm to the touch.
Hidden Beauty stared at it and thought about throwing it back but food was food, even if it felt suspiciously warm. Well, if she grew an extra eye because of whatever was wrong with this fish, so be it.

THIS IS MY NEW BEST FRIEND

My friend's name is Fishscale.
They are Happy and Unpleasantly Cheerful.
They like Sunlight and Rocks. They don't like Dead Fish.

Hidden Beauty stared at her new friend. If anyone looked at him they’d probably recognize Dead Fish’s scales being used as Fishscale’s eyes and mouth. After he’d taken out Dead Fish, he’d collected some scales for himself. To be honest, Hidden Beauty was alright with it. By the end of the week Dead Fish had stunk too much to handle.

CATCH OF THE DAY
What terrible thing awaits Roe on the end of his fishing rod? It was just a little fish, hardly worth eating. He pulled it off the line, and it started coughing. He didn't even know fish could cough, but it turned out this one had lungs or something, and it started singing at him. "Take me to the river," it sang. "Put me in the water~" And so he did. Roe tossed the little fish back before it could sing any more.

LOGS OF VENGEANCE
The face of my foe:

Roe had to think a little bit about who his enemy was. As insane as The Stump was... he was kinda having... fun, in a weird twisted way. Yeah, sometimes it was horrible, but other times it was actually... a good time.

So this time he made up an enemy to toss a stone at.

CATCH OF THE DAY
Was it Roe's imagination, or did fishing come somewhat easier today? The fish on the end of his line was fat and shiny, and glowed serenely. Definitely toxic, but as a decoration... it'd do.

"3. You reel in a shimmering fish that glows like a lantern. Tricks cheers, “That’ll protect us when the darkness comes!” ... What?"

LOGS OF VENGEANCE
The face of my foe:

Maybe Roe wasn't as bad at this as he'd thought. He'd had some luck fishing, things seemed more normal... maybe he'd be ok after all! He thought about who his enemy was today, and he came up with something completely normal: this really annoying catfish that he wanted to eat but was far too difficult to catch on his own. He kicked a rock at it, humming to himself. This was getting to be cathartic!

CATCH OF THE DAY

32. You pull up a beautiful, colorful fish.

Endeavors gasped in delight. She had heard from other kin wandering the stump that the ocean here had untold fascinating things in it, and well, she wasn’t one to stop investigating until it was too late for her peace of mind…

CATCH OF THE DAY
17. A grumpy fish surfaces, glaring at you and muttering complaints.
Beloved Bones rolled his shoulders idly, and then flicked his wrist, sending the lure far out to sea. He lounged against the railing, enjoying the warmth on his broad back until, at last, a bite on his line dipped the bobber low, and he hauled it up and out... only to be baffled when the fish started speaking, grumbling about how dull that hook had been, how tasteless and bland the bait. How dry the air and all that nonsense. It only ended when he thwacked the thing onto the railing, hard, and dropped it into the catch bucket.

CATCH OF THE DAY
14. You reel in a fish that burps rainbow-colored bubbles.
Hidden Beauty stared at it. She hadn’t known fish could burp bubbles, let alone colored ones. She debated between eating it and throwing it back but in the end she ate it. It tasted fine but she ended up burping colored bubbles for about a hour, not that you could really tell how much time was passing while out at sea..

CATCH OF THE DAY
11. A giant octopus wraps its tentacles around your line and pulls you into the sea.

Soul Out Of Time yelps as she is yanked overboard. She lets go of the line and desperately swims to keep up with the stump and the waves crash around her. Luckily, there were other kin fishing on the top deck while she was, so they were able to help fish her out. Soul Out Of Time will swear off of fishing for a while.

CATCH OF THE DAY
Fight Risk was more flabbergasted than anything and couldn't do anything else but sit there and listen to the fish's life story. And to be fair, it was a rather tragic one at that.

CATCH OF THE DAY

Endeavors was almost over the edge of the floating stump before she managed to stop herself. The twisting was strangely compelling - like it was underwater, being tugged the the current. No… it was just the wind, surely…

16. You pull up a twisted piece of seaweed that seems to move on its own, almost as if it’s trying to lead you somewhere.
