Simple Gifts is one of more than forty children of the same buck, and she’s never thought she was more special than any of her other siblings. Their strength is in numbers and teamwork, working together to make their garden patch as big and as beautiful as they possibly can. Together, they work to feed as many as possible with their fruits and vegetables. She loves the simple pleasures in life: sunrises over water, telling stories with her siblings, curling up around a bonfire, running through the woods at night like a bloodthirsty animal…
It all started with a dream, a strange dream where her body wasn’t her own. A dream in which she was a wolf, not a kin, and ran with wolves through fire and flame. It was a dream of death and destruction, and when she awoke, she found that something… had changed.
And she wasn’t alone anymore.
Ever since the spectral wolf started running silently at her heels, Simple Gifts has been trying to reconcile her peaceful agrarian lifestyle with the drive to hunt. You can’t chase down a pumpkin or potato, and tubers don’t put up much of a fight. But there’s something to be said for tracking rabbits through the reeds, or chasing game that just might be faster than you. More often than not, though, her prey gets away. It’s the hunt she loves, not the kill.
Simple Gifts would make an interesting legendary because she knows what it’s like to reconcile instinct and impulse with rationality and your own morals. She knows that there is a balance between giving in and shying away, and she would be happy to help others walk that line and find a place where they can exist as who they truly are. She’s gotten over her initial self-judgment and would take that open-minded kindness to others. She also still loves the planter’s life and the simplicity of an honest job well-done- even as a Legendary, she’d still live at the family plot, planting and digging and harvesting with all the rest of them. She would likely bless for temperance, mercy, and good judgment– and to kin interested in gardening, she’d certainly bless their clutches for a strong work ethic as well.
