From the little glimpses out of the corners of her eyes, the Prism Owl wasn't fleeing or puffing up in an owlball threat display.

"that's right beautiful, just like that, we'll have all the mice you could eat...." Pips kept up a quiest, soothing, patter as she slowly, slowly stepped closer to the beast. To her surprise, the owl alighted on her back! Pips walked back to Celery with a beautiful animal on her back and a beaming smile.

Blizzard had rested for a while and was ready to look for that musk wolf again.

Blizzard actually didn't mind this strange serpent friend and decided to try his luck with befriending him. He sat paitently trying to get a feel for the creature and how to approach it.

And just like that, it had run away! Ah well, back to his real mission.

The serpent returned as soon as it had left. Blizzard was baffled and not quite sure what to do. This time he should approach it slowly maybe?

The serpent coiled around Blizzards legs happily. Yet....he still couldn't get that musk wolf off his mind. "I'm sorry friend but I have to go..." he got up leaving the serpent behind to continue his search.

His eyes grew wide as the form of the musk wolf came into view. This was it!!! Carefully.....holding his breath he approached, would the musk wolf run again or allow him to advance?

The musk wolf did not run! It in fact seemed pleased! He took a few more careful steps toward it.

He could hardly believe it, the musk wolf allowed him to get right up next to it now! He held a hoof out tenderly for it to smell if it wanted to.

4: The familiar is uncertain, and approaches slightly.

The musk wolf approached his outstretched hoof, as nervous as the acha buck, and sniffed it lightly. She gave him an approving look. He remembered then to offer her something, with not much on him he checked his tail for leaves or something, anything to offer. He found a small feather and hoped she would like it.

What luck! She did indeed like his feather offering and seemed to have relaxed a lot since their first encounter. "Would you, consider coming with me?" He asked her, as if she could understand. "Let's see," he took a few steps away and then turned back and whistled to her in hopes she would follow him back to Celery.

Oh! How extraordinary! He had heard of creatures like these, Feathered Serpents they were called. The great beast was sunning itself on some stones, it's emerald scales glittering in the bright sunlight. It made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. How exciting! He took a step closer.
