The bushes shook, a rustling of leaves as bright bursts of color splattered the ground. It was early morning and the world was quiet, secluded from the wind and left to own as kin slept. Except for the bush.
He'd woken from a dream with a strike of knowing. Somehow, it never grew old. A kin somewhere needed or wanted a blessing and he yawned wide as the moon crested. It wouldn't hurt to start moving early and so he had rolled onto his hooves. He shifted into caiman form and slunk into the nearby river.
But that had been hours ago. And it had worked up an appetite. So the bushes shook and waited. They would come by soon enough.

[BLESS] Our Stars Fade Into Memories (Bitter Heartbeat x A Wink of Pink)
Dazed and confused, he emerged from the shaking bushes. A Wink of Pink was noisy in his movements, his horns catching on all the rustling leaves and pointy sticks.
"Ugh. This won't do. I'm lost and now I'm being attacked by darn trees!" exclaimed the exasperated acha. It was hard finding something he didn't know existed. A legendary. That's what the elders and even young ones whispered. It could be hearsay. It could be for naught. But still he continued onward because that was what First of Summer wanted. Diligent in his care, he fought valiantly against the bush once more before declaring victory.
"There, I won. Okay. Now I need to find a legendary. if only it was as easy as defeating bushes."

[BLESS] Our Stars Fade Into Memories (Bitter Heartbeat x A Wink of Pink)

A rumble of protest broke from the mini bear's maw. (Here, he would have sighed, why couldn't he speak to kin in this form? Or as a caiman? It would've made things so much easier!)
"Ahem, perhaps you shouldn't forget to look around?" a voice queried, bright and a little humorful.
The shaking bush was now home to a ghostly stag and a mini bear.

Whoa. It was not often one came across a talking bush. Granted, he heard about some burning bush, but a talking one? That's gotta be kinda rare right up there to mythical, fanciful stories right?
"Bush, you are giving advice? Can you also give me directions? I'm looking for a legendary for a beating or bleating for an expectant doe!"

[BLESS] Our Stars Fade Into Memories (Bitter Heartbeat x A Wink of Pink)

"Surely, I don't blend in that much," Bitter Heartbeat thought aloud. Regardless, he ambled forward, now solid, only to wonder if maybe he should have simply turned around. What did they mean, saying beating? Had he unknowingly volunteered himself for a fight? He probably had the teeth on his side, but even so, he'd really rather not fight.
"If you want to talk and if you want a blessing, then I am a Legendary. If you want to fight, then I am not one at all, but could lead you to one that would be willing to flay you." He wasn't joking about the latter. He dipped his head, "She scares me, though, so I'd really rather not if it's all the same."
