As the activity winds down, each whale has chosen a new kin to follow home. You look towards the mare and–your mouth drops open. What in the world? Are those . . . Where . . . What!? You’ve seen whales, but you’ve never seen these before and you wonder, a little dumbly, if they’ve been here the whole time.



A sly grin spreads across Breach’s mouth as the kin, who had been ready to leave suddenly stop in place and stare. She takes a step forward, the three whales floating around her, and looks out over the stunned crowd.

“The rumors are true,” the mare confirms, “new whales have been found. They aren’t yet ready to be cared for by others, but I’ve been working with them and expect that trials to bond them with kin will start soon. You’re welcome to speak with me, if you’d like to be involved, but it is a delicate operation and it takes a lot of patience.”

But what does this mean for everyone?

First, as of now, the gentle and rugged whales are completely open! If you’d like to fill out the old prompts, you absolutely may, but it is no longer required! This is true for obtaining and breeding!

Second, the three new types of whales are currently closed as I work out some behind the scenes things, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn about them!

Polite (Angel) Whales
These whales were found on an island near a natural lagoon. They are typically very interactive with kin and are often the easiest to befriend.

Impish (Demon) Whales
These whales were found down in the depths of the ocean. They are more reserved with kin and like to play tricks which makes them the hardest to bond with.

Fairy Whales
These whales seem to have come from nowhere; despite all attempts, no one has yet determined if these whales have a point of origin. These creatures have a lot of different personalities, ranging from kind to mischievous to hostile. While one would think that would make them the hardest to form a relationship with, that has not been the case, as many of these whales do prefer the company of a kin.

Currently, edits will not swap bases nor can they be mixed and matched. I know some of you will want angel wings with a flower crown or demon wings with a narwhal-unicorn horn and so on. The plan is to eventually have each variant on both bases and then I will see what we can do about mix and matching edits. That takes time, though, and money, but know that it is planned! (If there are any other whale edits you’d like, please let me know!)
