ONCE UPON A

1. a. A whine pulls your attention to a sand dog lying down and staring up at you. It clearly wants something, but what does it want? Or what does your kin attempt to give it?
3. a. Your kin realizes the lion has been stalking them while they go about the paddock.
3. b. The lion shows its belly. Is this legit? Is this a trap? What does your kin do?
5. c. Oh no, the tea dragon is fighting with the cave worm. What does your kin do?
8. c. One of the spiders is weaving strange shapes in their web. What does your kin see?

Sparkling Sunrise was so excited to see the strange familiars Heart and Home and her family were trying to adopt out. She carefully entered the paddock and looked around at all the creatures within it. Almost immediately, she heard whining and turned to see a sand dog lying by the paddock's edge and looking up at her with big, wet eyes. "What's wrong, little friend?" she asked, leaning her head down to sniff it. The dog's tail started to wag as she got closer, and she smiled. "Do you want some love?" she cooed. The tail moved faster. The young totoma giggled and nuzzled the dog, giving the side of it's face a few affectionate licks.

As she slowly meandered around the different groups, the hair on the back of her neck stood a bit. Without letting too much on, she glanced behind her to see a young lion crouched down behind one of the large cave worms. She grinned and faced forward again. For a few more minutes, Sparkling Sunrise familiarized herself with the paddock. The entire time, she felt the presence behind her, and heard the little lion's occasional shuffling as it slunk around behind her. The young doe quickly rounded a tree and waited. As she suspected, the lion followed and she leapt out at it with a giggle. The creature darted back with a hiss and loped away.

With her little shadow off somewhere else, Sparkling Sunrise laughed when she saw a similar lion get her attention with a different approach. As she walked by, it rolled over and presented its belly to her. The big, clawed paws were in the air, and the young doe was acutely aware of how sharp those claws probably were. "Would you like for me to pet you?" she asked sweetly. The lion maintained it's silly position, and Sparkling Sunrise couldn't resist the opportunity any longer. Carefully, she raised a hoof and patted the lion's furry belly. She only did it for a moment before she pulled away, not wanting to tempt the creature to strike.

Her attention was drawn away from the lion when she heard snarls and scuffling on the other side of the paddock. Sparkling Sunrise quickly trotted over to find a caveworm and a tea dragon swiping and snarling at one another. "Wait wait wait," she said with urgency as she got in between them. "Please don't fight, you'll hurt each other," she said, giving the two creatures a pleading look. They started to move around her, and the young totoma threw her large size around a bit to make her point. She stepped forward and stamped a hoof in the dirt. "I think you two should find separate places to be," she added, her tone attempting to sound firm and warning. The creatures moved off in opposite directions, and she exhaled a breath she'd been holding.

On her way towards the exit, a sparkling thread caught her eye. Sparkling Sunrise turned to find a spider hard at work on a web. The design wasn't like the ones she'd usually seen, so she paused to watch the creature work. With a quickness, the web began to take shape. Instead of a spiral pattern, it looked like the spider was weaving a sun? She smiled, and stepped forward to take a closer look. The spider paused, and she stepped back. "Sorry! It looks great, I just wanted to see more. Have fun!" she called as she began walking away.
