Eddy rolled his big shoulders from one side to the other, his yellow eyes hooded in the camouflage of the bush. He waited, big, dark, and silent. He concentrated on the husky breathing under rugged and bristly boar fur.
The boar nosed in the dirt, whuffing. Its tail swished busily back and forth.
He watched. He liked watching and waiting. He'd maybe only meant to keep watching.
But something changed. The boar's ears went back at first, nervous, and Eddy got even more still. Even more quiet. Eddy's own breathing sounded loud in his ears. It was going to run. He knew it was going to run. It was going to run away, and then he couldn't watch it any more, and he didn't want to let it.
He didn't think before he lunged towards the boar, all of him, his powerful tail sweeping behind him.

She'd been stalking the boar for the better part of the morning when one of them finally broke off far enough from the group to single out. Her eyes gleam for a moment from the shadows of the underbrush, and the doe shifts slightly, getting ready to spring.
The second she does - she lets out a startled grunt as another kin charges out from the brush opposite her.
She's not the only one surprised, though, and the boar makes a run for it. Not one to give up, the kimeti arches a brow at the acha and takes off after her quarry.
"Well? Come on! Two are better than one when it comes to hunting!" There's a fierce look on her face as she says this, her grin almost more of a snarl.

Re: [PRP] (Breakaway + Eddy)
Eddy's bluster was immediate.
He stopped completely short of his target, barely brushing it. Watching wildlife (and he's sure that's all he had been doing, that's all he'd meant to do) was one thing. Social situations were something entirely different.
Any words thickened up quickly in his throat, and the best he could manage was a very stiff nod as the other kin bolted towards where the boar had been churning up the dirt.
What had he been doing? He felt dizzy.
Watch. He'd been watching. He had been picturing, what, while he watched the boar? A struggle. Something violent. It had moved. He'd moved to stop it, and now this doe...Eddy's breathing felt loud in his own ears again.
He lumbered forward, slow at first, slinking and then picking up speed. He felt the ground move easier under his hooves, and it was easier for him to concentrate on the crash of the brush as the boar seemed to announce where it was, where it was going.
"You like to hunt?" he asked, and his voice felt quiet, even to him.

Re: [PRP] (Breakaway + Eddy)
The boar doesn't get very far before Breakaway catches up to it, dealing a rather nasty bite to its left flank. The boar squeals and veers sharply to the right - Breakaway just behind it.
Eddy's question earns him a sharp, amused, laugh, and she cuts a glance his way, her grin now spattered with a bit of blood, though she licks it away before answering. "I love it - don't you? There's not much else better than a good hunt!"

Re: [PRP] (Breakaway + Eddy)
He seemed startled by the flash of blood, but more interested than repulsed.
The smell of blood was heavy in the air, now. He just wanted the boar to be still, now, so he could look at it properly, so it wasn't all kicking and squealing and loud noises.
He thought about her question, if he liked the feeling, then answered at last in the same shy, breathy way, "Yes."
Working beside someone else was a different feeling, too, and he pressed ahead to round the boar and cut off its escape.

Re: [PRP] (Breakaway + Eddy)
Breakaway lunges forward with a startlingly savage snap of her sharp teeth, catching the boar right across the neck - though it turns at the last moment and she ends up only grazing it, rather than getting the mouthful she'd been aiming for. The creature yells out again in surprise.
As Eddy tries to go for it, however, it looks as though the boar realizes what's about to happen, and darts the other way, slipping free of them and running into some thick undergrowth...
"Oh --" Breakaway pulls up short, slowing to a quick trot as she heads toward where it had disappeared. She pants, her breath sending out little plumes of frosty fog in the cool air, and smiles at Eddy. The expression softens her otherwise fierce features, though the smile itself is more impish than amused. "Looks like it's trying to get away again. Why don't I go around and flush it back toward you into the open? I'm smaller, so it'll be easier for me to get around in this tangle."
Boar HP: 26 (regained some stamina!)

Re: [PRP] (Breakaway + Eddy)
Eddy noses, snorting impatiently at the knot. His first instinct is to struggle immediately into the undergrowth, instead of stopping.
"I don't mind being scratched," he said, still shy. But thinking it over, he gave a hesitant nod at the doe's plan.
"But I'll wait," he said, slowly backing up, his tail making big, slow curves behind him, his eyes glittering in anticipation. He had not thought to watch or hunt as a pair, but it was proving strangely satisfying.
