[PRP] Tooth and Maw

Post by Lutz »

Starving was currently, thankfully, not living up to her name. The gnawing, painful hunger in her naming dream had been quenched for the time being, a few remains of her meal left around her hooves. There were a few bones and some fluff of fur, but everything else had been consumed.

Satisfied, Starving headed for one of the cleaner pools of water within the Swamp to wash her muzzle. She was hungry for more than just food and luring kin in for a chat wouldn't be quite as easy when covered with the gore of her dinner. Usually Starving found herself along the edge of the sea, but she'd been traveling a little further inland lately to see if her allure was just as captivating to those that lived in the Swamp as it was to those that wandered the sands of the shore.

Reaching the pond, she waded in with a soft sigh. The water was where she felt the most comfortable and she did miss eating fish as regularly as she did in her usual territory, but the little trips into the ponds and lakes within the Swamp would do. Dunking under, she lifted a front leg to rub her muzzle against herself to clean up. A messy face wouldn't bring in company.

A somewhat off sounding giggle sounded from the trees surrounding the pool the colorful doe had chosen to bath in. A soft click followed, and then a slender doe was emerging from between a pair of thick trunks to approach the edge of the pool. Tail swaying and curled hair hanging over one brilliantly blue eye. She smiled a wide, toothy smile at the other, giggling again.

"Bloody bloody. Who've you been snacking on?" There was an almost giddy edge to her voice, a brightness to her gaze that was intent.

This was also not where Snap-trap tended to wander. She was a coastal doe, a member of the Crescent Bay tribe along with a large portion of her family. But she just so happened to have been passing though on this fortuitous day.

The giggle had one ear swing in the direction it had come from, but otherwise Starving didn't waver from her task. There were very little kin that she felt were a danger to her. If whoever was approaching wanted to hurt her, they wouldn't have announced their presence.

As the other doe came into her field of vision, Starving lifting her head from the water to acknowledge the other kimeti. She had a toothy grin that to some might have been intimidating, but to Starving it was intriguing. She gave the other doe a bit more of actual attention, tilting her head to the side at the observation and gave the grinning kimeti a smile in return, lazy but interested.

"Oh, just a little ball of fur who wasn't fast enough. No one important," she said languidly. "Sorry I didn't save any for you~" Her tone was flirtatious in nature, one that beckoned the toothy doe to come closer. This seemed like just the type of kin she'd enjoy getting to know one way or another.

Snap was not shy, and even if the other doe had not invited her into the water, she very likely would have done so anyways. Inflicting herself upon the other for as long as she'd tolerate it. But that tone? Oh, that was a curious thing, alluring. Snap smiled her toothy grin as she waded in, over, walking a slow circle around the other doe as she openly looked her over.

"Shame, a snack would have been great." The pout that followed was brief and not convincing. "But more interestingly, look at you." The spines, the tail. She'd never seen anyone like her. "Aren't you a unique, pretty thing."

Starving was delighted when the other doe came into the water with her. She felt much more comfortable in here than on land, her tail - despite its boniness - giving her extra speed and stability when submerged. This bog certainly wasn't deep enough to truly swim in but just having the water lapping at her legs brought that comfort of home to her that made her feel invincible, even with the toothy kimeti coming closer and circling her.

"Terribly sorry, darling," she purred in return as her companion lamented the lack of a snack. But her attention shifted to Starving herself, allowing the doe to preen under the scrutiny.

"Why, thank you." Starving watched her new friend from under half-lidded eyes, taking in the way she moved and how fearless she was. Yes, this was certainly a doe that was drawing her attention in the best of ways. She usually 'hunted' egotistical or unassuming kin for her own amusement as they were too self-absorbed or clueless to see she was using them for her own motives, but this one...this one seemed to be on her level.

"What's your name?" she asked, swirling her tail through the murky water to show it off a bit since she seemed so enchanted with it. "I enjoy knowing the names of the pretty things I encounter."

On her level, or on an entirely different planet, it was hard to tell with Snap. The doe was a wild thing, impulsive and fearless. Half feral, some would say.

Her from brightened sharply as the other doe asked for her name. "Snap-Trap," she answered easily, teeth clicking together for emphasis. Some she met were intimidated by her maw, but this doe didn't seem to be. She right she was pretty[/I[

"What's your name?"

A light chuckle left Starving as Snap-Trap demonstrated how she'd gotten her name. Yes, her teeth were quite impressive. Starving had seen many a maw full of sharp, snaggletoothed teeth living near the sea and she'd yet to meet a toothy grin she didn't like.

"A fitting name," she said, keeping Snap-Trap's gaze with her own. There were those who would surely be intimidated by the other doe's appearance as well as her demeanor, but to Starving it was all the more enchanting. She liked a bit of danger and suspense in her life.

"Starving," she returned, giving Snap-Trap a demure smile. A rather intense name for a doe who came off so placid and charming, but under her calm exterior was a raging whirlpool of constant hunger. Not just for food, but for attention as well. Thankfully Snap-Trap was filling that gaping void perfectly for the time being.

"Are you from around here, my dear? I must admit, this is not my usual local," she said, an ear flicking as a little bog bug landed on it. Ugh...she much preferred the insects that lived in the sands of the beach.
