[B] New Voices (Small Song x Dusk Wave)

Post by peanutbutter »

As unfamiliar with the swamp as she was, Small Song (or Tune, as she sometimes enjoyed) was not entirely unaware. She was quiet, yes, and less likely to ask the opinions of those around her. But she was a good listener and had heard tales. Stories of those who glowed with bright eyes, who walked with strange powers, who had the ability to bless those who were expecting.

So when she had found herself with brood, instead of panicking, she had simply gathered herself together, made a firm resolution, and started walking through the swamp with a goal and keen eyes. She hadn't heard of any surefire way to grant a meeting with one of these kin, but she had heard of how to identify them. Of eyes that glowed just a bit brighter, of creatures with intelligence that was just a little bit more than the usual. She would just have to keep a good lookout, and make sure that she left no stone unturned.

While not her most elaborate plan, it had been at least well made. Even at the slower pace she was kept to, it didn't take long until she found herself face to face with a crane with unusually glowing eyes. She considered it with a tilt of her head - while not her intention to find it here, at this pond, it was at least found. A boon for her at least, since she could now complete her goal and find herself a drink of water. Before she could talk herself out of it, she simply looked it best in the eye she could, and softly said, "I would like a blessing, please."

---

There was a blink and a thought as Dusk shifted out of his crane form, settling back into stag. It was strange, he still getting used to being asked things like this, rather than being left to his own concerns and travels. He didn't mind granting blessing in the slightest - it was nice, in a way. But he did prefer the bluntness of this doe, who having stated her piece, had bent down to drink from the pond. It was easier for him if he was just asked, without any extra spectacle or fanfare for the whole event. He took a moment to consider his words and the doe in front of him before he finally put it together.

"May your children will be healthy, happy, and confident to follow their path in life."

She had given no specifics, so he had taken some liberties of his own but the doe seemed pleased regardless. She simply tilted her head down in a nod and granted him a quiet thanks before she headed off, soon disappearing from sight.

Dusk himself took a breath, and then shifted back to crane, preparing himself for his own journey back home.
