Description: Bite of Passage spent the majority of his young adulthood working for Night Father and his cult of worship for the Harbinger. His seeming lack of empathy and willingness to obey so long as he was left to his own devices made him well suited for the older buck to set him the task of acquiring and preparing sacrifices for the cult's rituals.
After the events of the Mist-shrouded Obelisk Bite of Passage has begun thinking for himself and questioning his family's fealty to the Harbinger. The cult, under Night Father's guidance, believe the creature is a benevolent entity here to free them from the imprisoning curse of the Ache set on them by the MotherFather. Night Father teaches that the MotherFather treats kin unequally, bestowing blessings only on a select few while the Harbinger brings their blessings to all, and moreso that the powers of the legendaries might actually be available to any kin but are in fact suppressed by the MotherFather to help further their control over the kin of the Swamp. Bite of Passage as a youth did not care one way or another for these teachings, for the MotherFather or the Harbinger as neither seemed to impact his life as much as Night Father did. As long as Night Father gave him the freedom and guidance to indulge his urges and interests he paid little attention to anything or anyone else.
Over the course of the month he spent apart from his family in the depths of the zikwa caves gathering mushrooms and dreams for the Harbinger, Bite of Passage unknowingly sacrificed his self control and his ability to detach his thoughts from his actions. He finds himself experiencing explosive surges of strong emotions he can no longer surpress. Bite of Passage now dreads that he has made a deal with an entity far more powerful than the strange kin he'd thought it prior and he doesn't have any idea yet of what terms he may have agreed to deep within the caves.

Bite of Passage had remained in the intense glow of the cracked orb after the events of the Bring Back the Light event. The Harbingers parting words echoing in his mind. “You are free to leave. But remember who brought back the light, remember who blessed you, it was not the Motherfather. They exist only to lie, and I pity those of you who are already beholden to their whims, as Never Idle is.” It was the same schpeel Night Father had built their life around. What Night Father didn't know was how close he was to the actual truth while being so very off the mark as well. Bite had been ready to leave the clan entirely just moments before. He had spent his life obeying the whims of another. He'd thought it was because these were the things he already wanted to do and the purpose behind the orders had never mattered.
