She is however, not against meeting other kin, and will be cordial and kindly to any she meets.

Questions about her mixed heritage, her dripping body, her softly glowing eye, all ignored. She grit her teeth and would rather solve her problems with violence than words, butting heads literally with those who bothered her. But one day, a very persistent Totoma tried to get her to answer them, backing her into a corner where she had no choice. Either answer, or be attacked again.

Echo's first memory... The blind totoma was a proud, boastful little lamb, headstrong and running into things without fear. He was thought to be foolishly reckless, until they noticed he was following the light patterns like a zikwa, seeking out the glowing patterns of his family. However, not wanting to be helpless in the harsh environment, he learned to bellow out the same songs his father did, using the vibrating echoes to help him navigate distances. When some foals got lost in the caves beneath the mountains, he volunteered to search for them. Deep in the caves, the young totoma was guided by the echoes of his songs. until he found them and was able to lead them back home. When he shared the story, he was given the name Echo-Reader.

When morning came, there was no trace of her fighting aside from the blood she lost, stained on her fur and her battlegrounds.

In his travels, he came across a small forest of dying trees. The forest called to him, begging for his help. His heart twisted and he knew he couldn't return to his old life. Taking a knee at the largest tree, he whispered a small prayer to the Motherfather and to this forest. "I will be your limbs, I will be your eyes," he said, vowing to take care of it, no matter what it took. He sacrificed himself to this forest, and his family called him Forest Sacrifice for his duties.

Her tribe liked to engage in revelry after a victory, drinking sweet fermented fruit juices and enjoying themselves. While she joined in as much as everyone else, she never seemed dulled by the drink the way her friends were. One night, while they stumbled, a would-be ambush was thwarted by the doe, who was sober enough to alert everyone. Surprised and grateful, they called her Never-Drunk.
